The Memphis Grizzlies have a good team. They have to be a good team, their in the Playoffs! Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol are the Grizzlies bodyguards. If they can consonantly protect the basket against the Spurs they have a chance because the Spurs are not that tall. They are going to have to muscle them around. Also on offense Randolph is going to have to bring it, if not they have no hope.
They do have OJ Mayo though. OJ Mayo is a straight up shooter and he can knock down some big shots, at least I think so. OJ Mayo shoots over 40 percent. The Grizzlies need to run allot of there offense through him if they are not cramming it down low.
Don't forget about the very well spoken and educated Mr. Shane Battier. One of the best defenders ever to me. He is very basketball smart. He knows the game. He knows his limits and strengths and he studies hard. I wish the Boston Celtics had picked him up, but he is with the Grizzlies and they are going to need him.
Speaking of the Boston Celtics, my boy Tony Allen plays for the Grizzlies now. I know he's been there but it seems like yesterday he was wearing that Celtics green. Anyway Tony Allen is a solider, put him in the game and he makes thing happen every time. Plus Tony Allen is a locked down defender, he will get physical with them too, Tony is no punk. If Mike Conley can't contain Tony Parker, Tony Allen can handle that.
For the Memphis Grizzlies to beat the San Antonio Spurs they are going to have to play big and tough. Meaning they are going to have to use Gasol on defense mainly. Gasol is going to use his size against the smaller Spurs on defense and offense. Tony Allen is going to have to play lock down defense on several different players which he can. Battier is going to have to do the same.
In this series it's not the offense the Grizzlies should worry about, Zach Randolph and OJ Mayo will handle that. It's them stopping the San Antonio Spurs from scoring is what they should be focused on. Defense wins championships has been said many time and that has to be drilled into the heads of the Memphis Grizzlies. I think offense wins championships but that's just me. Don't tell the Memphis Grizzlies that because they need to play almost perfect defense against the Spurs to win. The Spurs are going to come very prepared and ready for a sweep. It's up to the Grizzlies to change that.
