Ike Davis singled home Jesus Feliciano in the first inning but than former Met Livan Hernandez shut down the Mets before giving way to Drew Storen and Matt Capps. Johan Santana pitched his best game in over a month yielding just one run while striking out seven in seven innings. Pedro Feliciano loaded the bases in the ninth inning before giving way to Ryota Igarashi who gave up a sacrifice fly giving the Nationals the 2-1 win. It was Feliciano's second loss in three days.
The loss dropped the Mets to 44 and 35.
