The Middle East Burns in Chaos as Glenn Beck Gets the Last Laugh

Snidely Whiplash
Once again, much to the chagrin and denials of many, Glenn Beck was dead on prescient in his appraisal back in January that the Middle East would melt down, one nation after another. Beck made his predictions when the Tunisa uprisings began. He told his radio and TV audience that more was coming in the Arab world and he was called "fear monger" and of course derided and scoffed at. Wonder who is laughing now?

The Tunisa uprising was the spark...the confidence builder that ignited the social media Internet and gave rise to the disorder in Libya, Egypt, Yemen and Syria. It seems the Muslim and Arab world are in a constant state of fire and it will go on. Is it really democratic freedoms sought? Perhaps, but will democracy and freedom be the end results? Maybe someday, yes, but right now there are other forces tugging. The Muslim world is alight with unrest and where their is unrest we always find agitators and those who see it as an opportunity.

Is the Muslim Brotherhood a good thing? I don't know. But rest assured when the despotic government's grow weak and their repressed citizen's express themselves and their pent up anger, the future is unknown for sure.

It must be kept firmly in mind that the Arab world knows no democracy and freedom as does the West. The Arab world is largely ruled by despots and dictators who have been in power for years, or who like Assad in Syria, had power passed to them from their father. The danger in throwing off the yoke of tyrannical rule is the vacuum that results if no democratic and powerful force rushes in to fill it. Naturally nature abhors a vacuum and into the void will come many entities seeking power. If one thinks all the potential fillers of the social and governmental vacuum are good guys, one is naive, hopeful and uninformed in the extreme.

Such unrest is the stuff of fundamental Islamic dreams. It's hard for radical fundamentalists to succeed in forcing out of power a strong despot, but once chaos ensues their job of installing a global or at least regional Islamic Caliphate becomes all the easier. As for the wishes of the fundamentalists, caliphate is their desire. That is not to say all the citizens will go along quietly but as we've seen the radical fundamentalists have no compunctions against violence and they will surely use it to gain their ends if at all possible.

Not to be forgotten Saudi Arabia and the lesser Islamic states that have experienced citizen unrest as well. I cannot say if the desires of the radicals will present themselves but rest assured the radicals are hoping against hope they will and these radicals will likely do all they can to help push their desires to fruition.

For me as an observer with no ability to do anything but watch and opine, the best part is once again Beck is on the money, much to the chagrin of the legions who dislike him so. I confess I will miss Beck's nightly program but he's all over the place...The Blaze.com is his baby, and he is now a powerful member of media. He has his 3 hour radio show, his "insider" thing where peeps pay to get the inside scoop, etc., and he will continue to be a force in media, like him or not. Sure, much of his presentation is over the top but again, try as I might I can't find too awful many things he forwards as being non-factual.

I can't say if his theories are all correct but if history is any judge and we all know it should always be our guide, well, Beck is rarely off the mark. And for all the hate the man brings upon himself, how is the economy looking there naysayers? He told us the dollar was free falling and to look at silver and gold, and he was dead on right. By the way, he was no bandwagon jumper on here. He began telling folks to insulate their fortunes, small or large, from the uncertainty in 2007 I believe.

Anyone remember the stink New York Congressman Weiner started last year, calling for an investigation into Beck and his commercials for gold investing? Anyone? Yeah, gold is way, way up since Beck began warning folks that paper money was a problem what with government printing it and borrowing us into massive debt. So if one had invested in gold or silver at Beck's suggestion, they would be flush with cash about now, myself included. Of course I did not need Beck to guide me to it...I have always known government taking us off the gold and silver standard would lead to where it is today if reckless spending and borrowing continued. Last Friday silver was up $1.67 in one day. Silver climbed well over 10% LAST WEEK alone. Hmmmm....

So keep laughing all you smart folks that love to pile on and bandwagon a popular soul to attack. Like I said, I'd join them if only Beck would prove to be wrong, but so far in my 8 years of listening to him on his radio show, I find little to attack him over, at least in terms of the info he provides. I mean he does vet it for us telling us where to go to find it out firsthand and so far he's batting 1.000 in the accuracy and factual nature of his info...again, like his conclusions and predictions or not.

I guess you smart folks can keep laughing and I'll keep vetting Beck and using my own independent investigations and conclusions to react and prepare. Oh, and I'll make a fortune in the silver market too. So far I am way, way up...I mean silver is only up 99% in the last SIX MONTHS. Gee! A totally liquid asset, easy to buy and sell...an untraceable place to rest my cash so that as our currency's fortune decline and we sink into a much deeper recession, I'll be making money hand over fist.

Hey y'all, this is the end of Beck's show on Fox sometime in the very near future. He has begun his winding up of his program and soon it will end. Any bets that between now and then me and all the others who see what Beck does and thinks like Beck does will do well, while others who laughed won't be laughing too much longer? Now THAT will indeed make me laugh. I am an evil SOB, ain't I? Can't help it...I just love watching smart asses get theirs, especially when they were so vile and hateful in their surety. This is gonna be a knee slapper for sure!

@ Johnny America...FIRST, lose the name, idiot! You ARE NOT the quintessential, average American unless we add the words "disgruntled, believing the hype" between the first and last name. SECOND, what is your religious rant all about? THIRD, as an accomplished, degreed and recognized historian, I can assure you Mr. Beck's history is DEAD ON correct. You may hate his conclusions and predictions, but his historical facts and proper contextual relationships within them are accurate. Turns out your chiming in makes you look exactly like the "repeating the nonsense" fool many of your compatriots are. Kudos Johnny "disgruntled, believing the hype" America." Thanks for reading.

Glenn Beck.... This loser is just another half educated, washed up, dry mormon alcoholic whose only real marketable skills are giving conspiracy blow jobs to anyone willing to pull their pants down and look the other way. That would be republicans and tea baggers. But then...what can you expect from this idiot. He never went to college, he knows nothing about US History, World History, the US Constitution, National Economics, World Religions or God. This fool is just a mocking bird for the twisted veiws of others who cannot find anything filthier than their own personal reflection. Someone needs to ask this over aged degenerate which of the many many gods of the mormon cult speak to him. And for the record, the religion of Islam has far more in common with the religion of Christianity than the mormon cult can ever hope for.

I don't see how Beck can be considered an "alarmist" when nearly everything he says comes true!

I think Fox is making a mistake, but I believe that management was getting pushback from some of the other Fox news staff, i.e., the comments by Bret Baier and Megyn Kelly are a good indicator. I don't agree with everything Beck says, but he is right enough (and backs up with what he says with credible evidence) to give serious consideration to what he says.

    Good Work, Happy Easter

Why do you think I follow you and Beck? Because you're right, Right, and right-on! Besides, I'm conservative AND smart and not afraid to say so, even though I know you know. And I know you know what you're talking about because you're the only one making money in this economic hole the country is in with your smart silver investments. I'm only making jewelry out of the stuff.

Geez, Whippy, looks like the NYU Docs have nothing better to do on Easter but drum up a little bit of business for the neuro docs! LOL Happy Easter, my friend :)

Thanks for the advice Doc. Might ya have been at least fair enuff to clue me in as to why? Did I indicate I was unbalanced? Have I written something incorrect? Have I missed my mark on my appraisals? Could ya toss an old and clearly in need of "psychiatric evaluation" dude a bone here? Oh, what's that? I didn't say anything incorrect or factually wrong, but ya just fancy yourself a smartass and couldn't resist? Glad I could be of help Doc. At least it proves that to be a doctor one does not need to be smarter than anyone else though, right? Thanks for reading Doc. Now get all your little progressive fellow interns to read this too. Y'all need a laugh and I need the meager earnings from your page views, so scratch my back here Doc. I make you feel intelligent and smarter than everyone else and I get to make a little jack and get to laff at you thinking you're so f-ing smart. See! A win win if ever there were one!

  • A Physician at NYU4/24/2011

I recommend a thorough (and perhaps urgent) neurological and psychiatric evaluation for you at your earliest convenience.
