The Midnight Hour is at Hand

The hour fast approaches
Friends gather round
Glasses lifted, toasts are read
As the clock counts the seconds down

The New Year is upon us
What it brings can not be known
The answers lie in tomorrow
Beyond it's borders, we've yet to roam.

The threshold of tomorrow
Knocks upon our door
Bringing promises and glory
We seek forever more

Will we gain the ends we seek
Will our paths be thrown off course;
Will the shiny new designer thing
Once bought, fill us with remorse?

The questions, they are plenty,
The answers sparse and few
The journey we take to find them,
Is about to start anew...
