J.K. Rowling... John Grisham... Tom Clancy... They are just three of the most famous writers of our time. They were able to capture their readers' imagination and have them join their stories by spending most of their time reading their masterpieces until they are done reading. Some are heart-pounding, some are too exciting, and some are dangerously interesting that one do not want to stop their reading because the excitement to discover what happens next is heightening!

But one writer cannot be a successful author without his primary weapon - his mighty pen. A story can never be completed without starting a single point created by the mighty pen. But to him, what is his mighty pen all about? How could he create such a masterpiece by just using this small piece of wonder? This article gives three of the many characteristics of the mighty pen that helped his master reach undeniable success.

An author's pen is his paint brush. Through his pen an author can draw sceneries of different situation. Be it a peaceful ocean view, a windy mountain top, a busy city street or even a noisy flop of flying ducks in the fields. With his pen he takes his readers to different places unimaginable or far possible for them reach them physically. Using his pen he can take his readers to the moon or even to the farthest planet in the solar system. Through his pen he can virtually take us anywhere!

An author's pen is also his mighty sword. Through his pen an author can strike his opponent's heart until he wins a war. With his pen he can defend himself from the inhumane treatment he suffers from those who misuse their powers. Through his pen he can fight for his people and defend them from oppression and injustice. Using his pen he can fight the dragon that monstrously destroys his motherland. With his pen an author becomes a mighty warrior!

An author's pen is his heart. With his pen he could inform everyone what is in his mind and in his heart. He could express himself to everyone, whether he is happy or sad, angry or afraid, hungry or full, loved or unloved. Through his pen he communicates to his people what is giving him heartache or joy. Through his pen he asks his reader what his heart need or what his heart could give. With his pen an author can be a good expressionist.

The pen is an author's paint brush, mighty sword and heart. However one author treats his pen depends on how he uses it to deliver his thoughts to his readers. Whatever his purpose is, his pen, his mighty pen, is his way to connect not only to his readers, but also to the world.
