The Mind

The Home of Memories

Yvonne Adams
This house of mind can be so full of things I can't explain

The rooms, the doors, these windows that open to my brain

Every opening can let things in that might cause me some harm

So I must protect this property, and put in an alarm

To warn me of the dangers surrounding this crowded space

To be aware of all the things I allow my mind to face

Memories are moving out, sub least to fears and doubt

They won't pay rent or give support, they just shut family out

This mind, this mind, this mind of mine

How empty will it be, if I let hope and faith move out?

To leave a vacancy

I've decided and I stand firm, I want them both to stay

So I invited another friend, and he moved in today

Now this house of mind is filled with such expectancy

And he even paid my debt for me, so I could live here free.

The best way to protect your mind is not to allow everyone access to it. If you want to retain your mind, stop giving it away. How? By Idleness; be creative, always willing to learn. Wake up your mind read the bible.
