The Mind Can be a Friend or Foe: Letting Your Mind Run You, Or Running It

Most people just go through their daily lives on autopilot. They let their brains dictate what they think and how they feel without giving any thought of what it is doing to them. Most people's misery is caused by this very thing. We dwell on what we think others are thinking of us. Or we have our private wars going on in our heads at the slightest miss understanding we had with any one else.

As we go through life we get programmed so to speak on what our reaction will be to a given situation that we find our selves in. For example some people will get all upset by just how someone will look at them. Others will keep punishing them selves for small things they did in the past that has been long forgotten by every one else involved.

This very thing if let to go on our hole lives can also shorten our lives. At the very least make our lives miserable due to what we let run in our own minds. Stress that it puts on our bodies will break them down over time. Yes the mind alone will shape how our bodies are. Healthy or not healthy. The mind will let us be successful or not successful. ( And being successful is in ones own mind and not what society thinks is successful ).

There is one habit we all need to get into in order to keep ones mind in control. You have to become a mind watcher. What I mean by this is you have to get in to the habit of standing out side of your own mind and just watch what is going on in your head. You are able to think of more than one thing at a time. Just by reading these last few sentences take time to sit back and see just what you think of this.

Watch what your first thoughts are on this. Do you agree or do you think this is a load of crap? Sit back and just see what your brain is telling you. You can do this for any situation you find you self into.

One place to pay attention to what goes through you mind is when you are in the shower. This is a big battle ground for a lot of people. Especially at the end of the day when you can reflect on what went on in the day. You will find that just being aware of what your mind is doing will be enough to keep you from over reacting. You will be able to stop any unwanted thought at any time. This is just one of many keys to a lot less stress and a happier life.

With some practice you will be able to do this any time you wish and all of the time would be the very best. The biggest barrier to this is just remembering to do it. To help to remember you can ware a piece of jewelry in a different place than normal. Or simply just put a loose rubber band on your wrist to were you will see it often.
