the Miracles of Life

Mike Hazelwood
The miracles of life we both see
A red rose blossoms among thorns
A colorful butterfly emerges from a cocoon
Newness created and birthed through transformation
Colors in the rainbow translucent in a storm-tossed sky

First tender touch of our two children
A freshness anew brought about in travail
Our life's love immensely emerges outwardly
Two fine-looking sons brought into this world
A mirror, of you and me, we can see in both of them

God's love shown in their births
A lasting devotion lives through the kids
Even though our affection is dead and gone
The Father's wonderment shines in our children
The rose has wilted, but they continue to grow

The winter chill, the bridge froze over
The glow from the boys melt the ice.
Even though our marriage, a faultless failure,
In God's world, never mistakes are made.
Thank you for the two perfect sons who keep me going strong.

WOW?! I did not expect this kind of depth. "our marriage, a faultless failure" should appear in a greeting card somewhere - for a divorce that is not vindictive!

Very touching about your boys. I like the glow from the boys melts the ice.
