The Misery of Life!

Anne Heyns
Turmoil, clouds, heat and swarming minds

Clusters of words, faces, grids from all kinds

What is life about, how much is wasted?

More questions, no answers, all saturated

Where to go, what to do, so many ideas

Frustrations, aches, aging and many fears

Walls of pain, dark and shadowy lanes

Every one just out for their own gains

What happened to the sweetness of love?

Why can I not even feel any from above?

Life became one long dark and lonely road

Full of fear, spent time, a huge and ugly load

The memory of wars all fought, all sorrows seen

The gusts of winds long gone as if never been

The missing ache of a child newly gone

The shame of what for him had not been done

Our few joys too little for any happy change felt

Only bittersweet acceptance of this life we have been dealt.
