The Monster and Santa Claus

Steven West
The Monster lurked around.
He was ready for a tasty treat.
Then Santa walked past the Monster.
"Now he looks good enough to eat."
The Monster opened his horrible mouth.
He revealed rows of sharp, jagged teeth.
Santa stroked his beard and said,
"Hey Monster, you sure look beat.
Have a lollipop and some bubble gum.
I'm sure that will make you smile."
The Monster looked at Santa.
"I haven't had candy in awhile."
The Monster blew a bubble for Santa.
It was huge and slimy green.
Santa said, "Ho, ho, ho.
I've never seen anything quite so obscene."
Santa called for his sleigh.
The Monster gave Santa a high five.
Santa waved back to the Monster.
"It's so good to be alive."
