The Moon

T.S. Garp
She heard it all before

The Moon

Will soon

Sing it's tune

And the night will cease it's nocturnal gloom

The tiny flowers will start to bloom

And she will ride the broom

Fly to see her tragic groom

See him there under the cold tomb

Gliding down from the dark clouds

Cast a spell

Near the well

Make a Luna wish

For the love who was sick

Recreate that life

Make it real tonight

Drawing in the stars so bright

Watch it burn

And see it turn

Come home and wait

Do not hesitate

Your love will arrive

By candle light

To your surprise

A witches' curse has set things right

Knobs and broomsticks

Cauldron and fire

Have made your desire

Return with passion

There, under the burning pile

Watch the dust form

Into life once more

The lost loving souls will rise tonight

Dead lovers, vastly departed

Across the dead sea of time,

Return from their eternal resting light.

Wait one hour and see

What you have long desired to be

Rap, rap, rap. Hear the knock on the door

And get ready to meet all that you have made of lore

For dreams and nightmares ring true this night

Your lover returns with a fright......... good-night!

I enjoy the rhyming incantation, which creates an odd, dark fable of destiny.
