In the "Mythic Tarot" the moon is The Macedonian goddess Hecate.
Here we encounter the mysterious ruler of the underworld, the moon, and magic. Hecate has the ability to bestow mortals with their dreams. She is the three faces of the Fates: the Maiden, Mother and Crone. Together they represent the three phases of the lunar cycle that rules the great collective sea of the unconscious. Meeting with Hecate throws us into the sea where the dark water where we are cleansed from the past. As we sink into the sea it is difficult to determine if we are falling apart or falling together. We are washed over to be cleanse for what waits for us outside of the water from the womb. The moon is the ancient female archetype because it mirrors the twenty-eight day cycle of menstruation. When thrown in to the murky waters out of which all primal life comes, it is generally to deep for man to fathom, we must hold to the light of the Star of Hope.
Hecate is the mother of intuition. "The Queen of the Night" whispers to us in dreams, she is the inspiration for for artists and seers. She whispers to those who invoke her in the magical arts and engage in midnight rituals. She bestows wealth and grants advances to those who invoke her in prayer, she is the one Persephone back from Hades to Her mother and is bestowed a great reward.
Carl Jung studied the collective conscience in depth. He determined that images in our dreams many times have much in common with images of creation, paradise, myths, folklore, and superstition. Those images or archetypes are shared either by members of every culture or and are know universally by all human beings. He stated that the Great Mother was prevent in all female archetypes and dates to pre-neolithic times. Hecate is the mother goddess of childbirth that gives birth to all conscienceness. It is our dreams, vi sons and fantasies that give birth to all creation. Do not be frightened by what appears to be anxiety or delusion because she is wakening the Great Creator within.
Focus on the Star of Hope.
