The Most Buzzed Celebrities

Christina Pomoni
What could Robert Pattinson, Natalie Portman, Lady Gaga, and Britney Spears have in common? They are all young, attractive, and successful in what they do, but most of all, they are so famous to be acclaimed as the most buzzed celebrities.

Robert Pattinson

Handsome? Yes. Charming? By all means. Cute? Absolutely. Even you didn't happen to see any of the "Twilight" series, Pattinson's pale face with the eerie look should look familiar. Having become the new idol of the teenage girls, the 24 year old British actor still feels uncomfortable with all eyes of the world turned on him after the huge success of "New Moon" (2009) and "Eclipse" (2010).

The obsession of girls and the impact of Pattinson have forced the media to deal with him. Pattinson was included in the list of the Sexiest Man Alive of People magazine in 2008, and 2009. Besides, the GQ Magazine acclaimed his as the Best-Dressed Man in the world for 2010, while Time magazine included him in its Influential 100 List and Forbes ranked him 50th in its Powerful Celebrities List.

In 2010, Robert made "Remember Me", a romantic drama, and he has finished Bel Ami (2011) where he co-stars with Christina Ricci, Uma Thurman and Kristin Scott Thomas. Also, during 2011 " Water for elephants" will be out where Robert co-stars with Reese Witherspoon. Obviously, Robert Pattinson has paved his way with Twilight, but he has great potential to participate in great movies and always manifest his incomparable charm along with his talent.

Natalie Portman

She has impersonated Queen Amidala in "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace" (1999), Sara in "Cold Mountain" (2003), Alice in "Closer" (2004), Evey in "V for Vendetta" (2006) and Nina Sayers in "Black Swan" (2010), among numerous other roles in her short career since 1994. And she has been equally accurate, focused and successful.

Natalie Portman, 30, is a unique case of star. Naturally elegant and classy, often compared to Grace Kelly for her delicate beauty, Natalie combines Harvard maturity with Hollywood breeze to an explosive cocktail of success. Although in the past she claimed that "I am not someone who sacrifices all for the cinema," in Black Swan, Natalie has literally suffered going through physical strain and discipline to portray the psychotic ballet dancer who fights against her own self. But, all this "monastic life" has practically helped her build the right mindset for the film and realize the emotional state of a ballerina.

Natalie won Golden Globe Award and her first Oscar as Actress in a Leading Role for "Black Swan". It seems that she has rightly become one of the most popular and booming Hollywood actresses.

Lady Gaga

Eccentric; talented with impeccable songwriting skills and unique stage performance; innovative; provocative - sometimes to the extent of being blasphemous; theatrical; a fashion icon; What else can one say about Lady Gaga, who has managed to capture the audiences so fast and so ferociously in the short period of two years that she is around? It's only since 2008 that "Just Dance" debuted to #1 of several top charts including Billboard Hot 100, Billboard Pop 100, Billboard Hot Digital Songs, and many others. Recently, the first single from Gaga's upcoming album in May 2011 is released on Feb 13. "Born This Way" already peaks #1 Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard Digital Songs, while it is #4 in Billboard Radio Songs and #6 in Billboard Pop Songs.

Lady Gaga is a phenomenon in all rights. Commenting on pop, living in fame, creating fashion and adoring luxury, she may not be acclaimed by everyone, but there is little doubt that she is creative, highly motivated and determined to remain an international superstar for many years to come. And she is only 25.

Britney Spears

When Britney debuted with "Baby One More Time" in 1999 she was only 18. Yet, she managed to be the Best New Artist of the Year as a teenager. The album peaked at #1 on the U.S. Billboard 200, went 14x Platinum, and sold 25 million copies globally. Moreover, the title track has peaked #1 in 70 countries, was acclaimed the 25th most best performing song of all time in UK chart history with 1.45 million copies sold and is the fastest-selling single ever by a female artist .

Since 1999, Britney has been awarded numerous Grammy Awards and her singles have peaked #1 in the global charts. Shinny, sexy, a great dancer, not "the voice", but definitely a charm to watch and a magnificent performer, Britney has the touch. Having gone through ups and downs in her personal life hasn't really affected her career. Her fans, omnipresent, ready to support and protect her from possible media attack have never abandoned Britney. Not even when she shaved her head and was forced to be placed in a psychiatric hospital for being an inappropriate mother to her children. If you're asking me, they are right to be there for her. Isn't what people do when it comes to music legends? Forgive and forget?

Britney, today 30, still goes strong. Having released "Hold It Against Me?" made her great come-back to the charts. The song already peaks #3 in Billboard Pop Songs and #5 in Billboard Radio Songs. Undoubtedly, Britney has the glam, the guts and the experience to be the New Pop Queen in the shoes of the Pop Queen at her 30s again.
