While some believe Wicca to be an occult practice, I tend to agree with this analogy since the religion itself is very secret and mysterious and the followers treat outsiders as such. There are hundreds of misconceptions about the Wiccan religion and its practices; there are also different kinds of paganism, such as Discordianism, Kabbalah, Heathens, Druids, Shamans, Odinists and Sacred Ecologists and these are just a few. All of these have a diverse range of subdivisions that will lead the follower down several different paths.
There are literally hundreds of misconceptions about paganism, most of which are completely outrageous, rumors without supporting facts that have been written by Christians in books over time.
The following is a short list of the most common misconceptions of Wicca:
The Wiccan religion worships Satan, and is a sister religion to Satanism and that it uses the same rituals as Satanic cults.
The main purpose of Wicca is to poison a person's mind against Christianity.
That followers of Wicca sacrifice babies and children, even now in today's time and right here in America.
To be Wiccan you have to be a heretic or witch and that they have sold their soul to the devil and that all Wicca followers have the same a mark called the "Devil's Mark" that Satan himself gives them after they sell their soul.
That to be Wicca is to be damned to hell for all eternity.
Wicca followers believe that being Anti-Christian will give them access to special powers from Satan.
The Wicca symbols like the pentagram are used to conjure demons and evil spirits.
Wicca followers believe and worship chaos.
Wicca is a cult and not a religion.
During Wicca rituals, they have sex orgies and drink blood.
Wicca followers only cast evil spells and curses to harm people.
That Wicca followers regularly go out to recruit new members to gather greater numbers, so they can overthrow Christianity.
Here are some of the Pagan-Wicca holy days.
October 31st Samhain or All Hollows Eve.
December 21st is the winter Solstice.
March 21st is the Spring Equinox.
May 1st is Beltane.
August 8th is Lughnasadh.
September 21st is the Fall Equinox.
