The Most Disappointing Features of the New Toshiba AT200 Tablet
The Worst Features of the Toshiba AT200 Tablet
The Toshiba AT200 boasts several great features, including a 5 Megapixel rear-facing and 2 Megapixel front-facing camera, a large 10.1" display, great hardware, and Android 3.2, but it has a few disappointing features that's seriously holding it back.
Sub-par Battery Life
Regardless of if a gadget is the most advanced in its category and it does any and everything that a consumer could ever hope for, if it has poor battery life, hardly any other feature matters. Most of the tablets on the market boasts 10+ hours of battery life while watching movies and doing battery intensive tasks, but the Toshiba AT200 falls behind the pack and comes equipped with a battery that offers a maximum of 8 hours (20% less than its competitors). While 8 hours of battery isn't horrible, it's significantly less than what's offered by the Toshiba AT200's closest competitors.
Poor Camera Placement
Virtually all modern tablets have incorporated a rear and front-facing camera into their designs, and while the Toshiba AT200 tablet manages to pack an advanced 5 Megapixel rear-facing and 2 Megapixel front facing camera into its frame, there's just one problem; camera placement. The Toshiba AT200's front and back facing are positioned to be used while the tablet is faced horizontally instead of vertically - which presents several issues including a weird hand placement when taking photos and a skewed appearance when using video chat.
It's Hardware Is Becoming Obsolete
The Toshiba AT200 features a relatively advanced hardware makeup, which includes an advanced 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, up to 64GB of storage space, and a 5 Megapixel and 2 Megapixel camera. While the hardware specs of the Toshiba AT200 might seem impressive, they're quickly becoming standard and will soon be obsolete as the new generation of tablets are released during late 2011, early 2012.
It Doesn't Bring Anything New to the Table
The Toshiba AT200 tablet is pretty impressive, but it doesn't bring anything unique to the tablet market and most of its features can be found elsewhere. There's very little reason to select the Toshiba AT200 tablet when there's better options available that boast better operating systems, more advanced hardware, lower prices, a larger user base, and a more efficient form factor.
