Going to the fair can be quite the experience! Not only are the rides and people watching fun but the choices you have when you want a snack are unbelievable! Now it is to the point of what will they think of next?
Okay, now first I do suggest you might want to proceed with caution if you have high blood pressure or heart disease. I can only imagine how much cholesterol, fat and calories are in this stuff.First on the list is fried butter! Yummy! Well, I probably wouldn't go that far. It is what it is: deep fried butter. You know, making a fattening food even fattier.
Since we are frying up already fattening food how about deep frying bacon? Just roll it in batter and deep fry. Now I personally have not had the fortune (or misfortune) of trying either the fried butter or fried bacon so I can offer no actual opinion here, but if you have forgiving arteries I say go for it.Now fried twinkies sound a bit interesting and I might actually try this. It seems to be pretty popular. You can find the recipe all over the web. I think it may make a pretty delicious dessert!
Hmm, what about a deep fried pickle? Perhaps a tad bit healthier? If you can say that at all. This may give you that sweet and sour flavor people crave. I have never tried this one either but I probably would. I think it would be similar to a fried jalepeno pepper, but maybe one that isn't very hot.
Corn dogs seem to be all the rage at Fairs. Now I have personally tried a corn dog at the Fair and the one I had was nothing to write home about. Everyone was going on and on about the corn dogs at the Fair and I must say I was disappointed. I have had better corn dogs at the small festivals in my town.
The large pretzels are another popular item at Fairs. I am really not a pretzel lover so I don't particularly care for these, but if you do like pretzels then they would probably be worth you giving it a try.
A fairly new weird food they have come up with at the Fair is fried coke. How does that work? From what I can tell it is frozen coke that has been battered and deep fried. I would probably be willing to try this one since I am a Coke-a-holic.Another one to add to the list of new and weird food at the Fair is fried Kool-aid. I would imagine it is made similar to the fried coke.
I am thinking they need to create a new contest to discover the weirdest and best tasting food for the fair. How about fried ketchup? Fried ranch dressing? Fried olives? Fried cereal? Who knows, could be winner!Published by Juliegirl
