Christmas season will be approaching soon and some of us are wondering what to get the kids on our lists. The 2009 shopping season is sure to have plenty of sale prices as well as new toys and games coming out to compete for the shopper's attention. The following gift ideas include new favorites as well as items that continue to be popular gifts each Christmas season.

Music - Some children develop a taste for specific musical styles earlier than others, but music in general is always popular with kids. Give the kid on your list a gift of music by giving them a certificate for tunes. Amazon is the place we like to buy music because the music we download can be put on more than one player or device.

Video Games - According to Amazon's bestseller list, the most popular game this year that is appropriate for kids of all ages is the New Super Mario Bros. game for the Nintendo Wii. If the kids on your list have a Playstation 3 or an Xbox 360, the FIFA Soccer 10 is worth consideration. It has some pretty great graphics and the game ranks consistently popular as a bestseller and comes with highly rated reviews.

Games - Kids love games- you really can't go wrong. Here's a secret: They may not ask for board games, but they are guaranteed fun. Battleship, Sorry and other card games like Slamwich and Uno will entertain the kids on your list on a rainy day. Sometimes kids need a break from media to have fun with a good old fashion "game night".

A Camera - A simple "point and shoot" is a great gift for kids because they love taking pictures of their friends and family. There are many different price points and age levels that digital cameras are made for this year. Even though the quality of the camera may not be as good as the family camera, it's so much fun sitting down and looking at the pictures that have been taken by the excited new photographer.

Art Supplies - Giving art supplies for Christmas is always a way to get a smile. Kids love sitting down with endless possibilities. Whether it's a huge supply of crayons or a cool Crayola Glow Station, the artsy presents always seem to get play time first.

Bible - Incorporating the biblical message into the Christmas season is important to many families, which is why bibles are a very popular gift on Christmas day. Christianbook.com has a great selection of bibles geared for kids of all different ages, as well as translations that are in modern English and easy to understand. Most bibles for kids have devotions included, as well as questions and other "fun facts" to help them understand what they are reading. In 2009 there are so many choices to personalize a kid's bible. From soft leather-like finishes with beautiful embossing to adventure themed bibles, both boys and girls will enjoy this gift.
