1. Scrabble (Cost: $4.99)
Scrabble is a great mind game that you can now enjoy on your Kindle anytime, anywhere! Actually, this is the first paid game application ever made available on an e-book reader, which makes Scrabble even more challenging and Scrabble fans even more demanding.
Regardless if you are an experienced or a novice Scrabble player, Scrabble on Kindle is easy to play. Featuring a simple controller that allows you to move around in five-directional navigation using the ALT + [key] keystrokes, the game is fast and responsive. Besides, it features clever menu options including the Best Word feature that helps you create the highest scoring words, a list of two-letter words, and instant stats for tracking your score. The more you play, the better vocabulary you develop and the more chances you have in achieving the highest scores among your friends or beating the computer.
Just keep in mind that although you can challenge your friends, you cannot challenge your Facebook friends as Scrabble on Kindle does not support online interaction with other users. What you can do is challenging a friend and passing the Kindle back and forth, which means you have to be literally together and play with the same e-reader.
2. Easy Sudoku (Cost: $0.99)
If you are a Sudoku lover, Easy Sudoku for Kindle 3 is the first high quality interactive Sudoku game coming straight on your Kindle screen. Developed by Puzux, Easy Sudoku is a great mind game that features 10 beginner and easy level challenging Sudokus.
The developers have done an excellent job on featuring magnificent graphics, clear display and a user-friendly interface. Besides, Easy Sudoku features several helpful features including the number highlighting, hints on what number is missing for creating the series from 1 to 9, choosing a random puzzle and the optional error checking.
Coming with pretty straightforward instructions on how to navigate around the Sudoku board, Easy Sudoku can offer you endless hours of enjoyment. Now, instead of carrying a bunch of Sudoku books with you you can have it all in your Kindle!
3. TripleTown (Cost: $3.99)
If you are into strategy games, Triple Town is the one for you! Being the first independently featured game on Kindle, Triple Town is a great match-3 puzzle game developed from Spry Fox. (A quick note for those of you who are not aware: match-3 games require you to produce sets of similar items, at least three, to meet the game's objectives.)
In Triple Town you are required to grow the largest possible city to score the most points. Your board is split into squares and there are different sorts of objects on it which you have to combine in sets of three. You start small and you grow bigger as the objects are gradually matched to build your city. You can combine flowers to make a bush, bushes to make a tree and so on until you create a whole new city with houses, castles and churches. Of course, the game requires you to fight with barbarians and anticipate wizards that try from time to time to obstruct your way from placing your objects and create triplets. On the other hand, you are also granted magical crystals that can stand-in for any object or powerful bombs and you get hints regarding each object's value and purpose that help you build your city more effectively.
Although Spry Fox is only founded in September 2010 and the developers' platforms are in the uncertain beginnings, the game developers have done a really accurate and good job with Triple Town. The game is easy to play, has accurate graphics and offers you the opportunity to develop great strategy. Moreover, the price includes free wireless delivery via Amazon Whispernet.
