The Most Romantic and Inexpensive Restaurants in Tucson, Arizona

Want to Know Where to Take Your Date for a Romantic Meal? I've Got the Answers!

John Savage
If you live in, or are just visiting, Tucson Arizona there are many great restaurants to choose from. These are my top picks for a romantic and inexpensive evening.

Mama Louisa's:

Mama Louisa's is a wonderful place to take a date for a romantic evening. Located at 2042 S. Craycroft road, Mama's has the best homemade Italian food in the state. Besides the unparalleled food and superb wine list, Mama's has a very romantic and intimate atmosphere. The low light, candles on the tables, the old world murals on the wall, and even the nice little outdoor patio, which is nice in the mild Tucson weather, all come together to create the perfect environment in which to woo that special someone. The prices are very reasonable so that a couple could have dinner and a glass of wine for under $40. If you would like to experience Mama Louisa's check out: www.mamalouisas.com

Romano's Macaroni Grill:

Even though Macaroni Grill is a chain restaurant I believe that it is a wonderful place to take a date for a romantic evening. This well known Italian food restaurant has a very authentic feel, friendly staff, and affordable prices. I go to the one on Broadway, just west of Craycroft, and have never been disappointed. I love the open kitchen, complete with a stone oven, and the relaxed atmosphere. A couple could have a great meal and a glass or two of fine wine for about $40, so it won't break the bank. They also have a separate bar area for those who would like to enjoy a drink before dinner. My favorite meal is the fettuccini Alfredo with shrimp, but everything I have tried there is excellent. I do recommend going during off hours, however, if you are going for a romantic dinner because the Macaroni Grill is quite popular. If you would like more information go to: www.romanos.com

El Molinito:

If you are looking for a romantic place to have Mexican food in Tucson Arizona, El Molinito is the place to go. I have taken my love there many times for a delicious, authentic, and very affordable meal. Located on 22nd street, just west of Craycroft, El Molinito has a classy and authentic feel. The staff is very professional, accommodating, friendly, and of course bilingual. My fiancé, who is from Mexico, assures me that the food is authentic, fresh, and delicious. They have excellent margaritas as well, and all the prices are very affordable. We usually have a very filling meal, and a few drinks, for about $30. Although there are literally hundreds of Mexican restaurants in Tucson, El Molinito is always my first choice for a romantic, delicious and very inexpensive meal. El Molintos is a good choice here in the Old Pueblo. I'll be checking out the others now. Thanks for the tips.
