Now I live in Coastal Georgia. Is there a more romantic spot than on the beach at sunset or sunrise to propose? Pick a spot that is semi secluded and have a picnic. Just as that sun is at the horizon, either in front of you at a breakfast meal or behind you reflecting on the Atlantic would be the time to ask that loved one to be yours forever. A picnic breakfast packed with all sorts of wonderful treats to include mimosa, that is orange juice and champagne, and chocolate dipped strawberries, would be a wonderful way to start out a romantic morning to end with a proposal down on one knee. An evening dinner would be just as romantic, with the sun setting behind you and the whole ocean in front of you.
Speaking of the Ocean as a wonderful place to propose, consider a page out of my nephew's book and rent a boat. You can find charter boats to take you out. Plan ahead and have that romantic mood set with a nice dinner, candle light and maybe some scattered rose petals. Just the two of you, hopefully the captain of the boat will make them selves scarce and you have another perfect setting for that romantic proposal. Just the two of you, with a romantic dinner and nothing but miles of gentle rolling waves will say romance. Don't forget the romantic music in the background.
A third wonderfully romantic place to propose would be the top of Tybee Island Lighthouse. There are lots of steps, 178 of them to be exact, but the view from the top is absolutely breath taking. Make sure your loved one isn't to close to the railing when you pop the question, but otherwise, what a romantic, heart stopping place to propose!
There are also many wonderful squares here in Savannah, Georgia. If you are at all familiar with at all with downtown Savannah you have seen the wonderful Squares of Savannah. They are gorgeous little pieces of nature located through out the downtown area. Many have benches and statues and some even fountains. Find one that pulls at your heartstrings and that you know your intended will also love. A nice romantic walk ending at one of these of these oasis and you have yourself an ideal place to propose.
As I mentioned at the beginning I am an outside type of girl with a romantic heart. The four I have named are all outdoors, but there are some wonderful inside spots as well. Savannah and the surrounding smaller towns and cities are full of wonderful little restaurants and cafés. Candle light, romantic music and wonderful food will all set the mood. But what you truly need is a heart that is full of love and good intentions and the hand of the one you love and you can make any spot in the world truly romantic for that just right moment!
