The Motorola F3 Cellphone: The Newest Old School Toy Around

Ashby Koss
I am so sick of 200 dollar cell phones and everyone scrambling to get the newest and most complicated cell phone available. Instead of making a damn cell phone that actually works like it should companies have been jamming more "function" into the phones, which in the long run make s the actual phone part of the cell suffer. I am simply sick of it, and have since then refused to give in. I stated my search for phones that are in my eyes ideal for making phone calls and making text messages, that is all no MP3's, no pictures, no video clips, no internet, no email, no downloadable content. The simple but working cell phone. Not only did I find my savior but, it is sleek stylish and actually has better reception than the newer "improved" cell phones.

The Motorola F3, with dimension that are damn near to the Motorola sliver the F3 turns head and get question when other see it. At only 70 Grams for weight this thing slips in a pocket and disappears without any bulges, and you will forget which pocket you slipped it in. Sporting the new technology of Electronic Paper, there is no actual "screen" in a traditional sense. Looking rather like an etch a sketch the screen is black an white and requires no back lighting to be read. With the Electronic Paper you can also view your screen perfectly from almost any angle just like ink on paper.

Electronic Paper in and of itself is rather amazing, using million and trillions of silicon balls filled with black and white ink. As the balls flip over images are created on the top of the "screen". Because of this technology the battery life of this phone is simply off the charts. With my daily usage and average talking time I pull in around 4 days without a recharge. While many people talk more than this and many talk less I'll try to give some numbers. The talk time is registered at a screaming 250 minutes and a stand by time of a crazy 400+ hours, from my finding these numbers are not too far off either.

Reception is everything nowadays, and the Motorola F3 does not fall short. This little guy regularly draws in 1-2 bars more than my girlfriends Nokia when set right next to it, and we both have the same provider. Which brings me to the downside of this phone. The acquirement of such a device can prove to be a pain in the rear. I had to ship mine in from Australia, this means that you will have to lean about your cell phone providers signal and what types of phones are able to use the signal before you go and get a non standard phone. While this tends to be a daunting task, the internet makes this form of information actually available to the public. While going into detail about the wireless signals and different bands I am simply going to direct your over to the worlds best answer generator on the internet, Google, just do some searching and the answers will come pouring in.

Now with all this you may ask yourself what about costs, well to get a F3 in your hands it will run about 50 U.S. dollars. Now before you blow off the hinge about 50bucks for a "simple" phone, think about the 200 + dollar phones that some providers are pushing. At 50 bucks the F3 is truly a steal, and if you lose or break it you still have your old phone as a back up and you saved yourself a lot of hassles just by using a 50 dollar phone.
