The large screen enabled me to see incoming pictures and videos with a clarity that was far beyond what I had experienced with the other cellular phones that I had owned. I used the camera and video functions quite extensively for both sending and receiving pictures and video.
I was able to get photo quality pictures with the built in camera consistently. Everyone I knew was amazed at the clarity of the pictures that I could take with my phone. The videos taken with this phone were truly spectacular. They were comparable to the videos that I could take with my camcorder, even though the time frame was very limited.
Before I purchased my razor I had heard a lot of bad things regarding the durability of the phone, and I have to say given its compact size I was worried going in. However, I found the phone to be one of the most durable that I have ever owned.
I literally sat on it, dropped it (several times), left it in my car in the middle of the summer for hours, and even jumped in a swimming pool with it on my side, and it still worked great. I can't imagine any phone withstanding the punishment that my Razor saw, and a friend of mine still uses it daily.
The Razor also proved to be very fast at sending and receiving messages of any type, and for someone who uses messaging as much as I do, and has little to no patience such as myself, the speed with which it could handle messaging was a definite plus. I could send text, pictures or videos almost immediately and receiving any type of messages went just as quickly.
Now, with all of that being said there was one problem that I found with my Razor, after months of use I began to have trouble with a couple of the keys being hard to push. They still worked; you just had to push harder than normal on the buttons to get the numbers (or letters if you were texting) to go through.
Being a texting addict and an avid phone user altogether this did prove annoying for me. But, in all fairness I can't say whether this problem was an actual malfunction within the phone, or simply a product of my rough handling of the phone. Personally, I attributed it to the latter as my phone had already been banged around, dropped and went for a swim at this point.
I would definitely recommend the Motorola Razor to anyone looking for a phone. Its overall design is both stylish and functional. There are not a lot of confusing keys to hamper its use by even the most technologically challenged. The set up for messaging is very easy to use and straightforward. In fact, if it wasn't for the fact that I am a self described tech junkie who had to have a Chocolate when it came out, I would probably still be packing my Razor around today. As a matter of fact, one of my friends who is a lot more conservative with her tech purchases is still carrying my Razor, and it is still working great.
