The Motorola Razr, a Fun yet Practical Phone

Product Review for Motorola Razr

I work for a cellular phone provider. Because of this, I have the opportunity to play with almost all makes and models of cell phones. The first thing that caught me on the Motorola Razr was its picture quality. From the first snap, I was sold. I have had my razor phone for over a year now. I am completely in love with this phone.

My phone has been used as a teething toy, a spy device, to capture those precious moments, and of course to communicate.

Having turned off my local landline phone, I was unsure how having a very thin razr phone would handle with the restraints I intended to put on it. I knew it would get more use than a regular phone or cell phone just for the simple fact of it was the only phone I had. This phone is definitely more durable than what I as expecting. It has held up to baby drool, sucking, throwing, dropping, and all around abuse. I am very impressed.

The Razr is extremely thin. It will fit into the tightest jeans or smallest of purses. This can be a very important quality. At the time it came out, it was about ½ the size of any other cell phone. Now there is a lot of competition that has copied their popular design.

My husband and I purchased our Razr's together. At the time Razrs only came in silver. The first thing I did was head down to my local cell phone accessory shop. I purchased a purple and silver faceplate that set mine apart from the rest. It was simple to change and really added personality and bling to my phone.

This phone is very easy to use. I came from a long line of very loyal Nokia users. I was hesitant to make the change but I am glad that I did. Within a week I was using my Motorola like I had owned it for years. The menus are very simple and easy to navigate. You have a choice of having the items displayed in a list of words or on a grid with pictures. I chose the pictures.

You can also re-organize the order of your menu items. I found this extremely handy. I put the items that I would use most often on the top. You are also able to program the short cut keys on the phone for ease of use. I have my most common requested items at just the touch of a button.

Another wonderful quality of this phone is the camera. It is truly fabulous. It is a VGA camera. It is a 640X480 resolution. This makes all of your photos crystal clear. It also has video capabilities. The only downfall to this is they are extremely short clips. They are approximately 30 seconds long. It is hard to catch anything worthwhile in just 30 seconds.

The Motorola Razr is also capable of MP3 ring tones. These are the real tones that sound like an actual song playing. These can be purchased online from any of the thousands of web pages now available. However, I have discovered a much cheaper and easier way to do these. I have found a way to make my own ring tones. You will need music editing software that allows you to cut out a piece or pieces of a song. Once you have 30-45 seconds you can save it as a MP3 file. To get your ring tones on to your GSM phone you can go to www.wappal.com and upload your ring tone for free. You can download it through the web browser on your Razr. This is very fun and easy to do.

I also love the assortment of games that can be downloaded for the Razr. Many of them can be downloaded for free.

The last feature that I love about this phone is it has Bluetooth. Bluetooth is a way to wirelessly communicate with other items Bluetooth capable. My husband and myself can transfer photos, contacts, and ring tones wirelessly. It is also very simple to transfer any of these items to you Bluetooth capable home computer. This not only has ease of use but will save you on the data-transfer charges your would incur from your cellular provider.

This is a very high technological phone but it still has ease of use. It is overall user friendly. I definitely do recommend this phone to anyone who wants a fun yet practical phone.
