Mountain Dew Voltage is a raspberry version of regular Mountain Dew. The label has a black background with blue accents. The drink itself is also blue. Mountain Dew Voltage contains ginseng, which is an ingredient regular Mountain Dew does not. Ginseng is known for its energy increasing properties. This new Mountain Dew also contains a slightly higher amount of caffeine. Mountain Dew Voltage's caffeine content is 54 milligrams per 12 ounce service.
I liked the raspberry flavor of Mountain Dew Voltage. I thought it was a nice change for a soft drink. I would definitely drink it again if it is chosen as the new flavor to permanently be on the market from Mountain Dew. I think it tastes more like blueberry though, instead on raspberry. This might just be because it is blue in color. Perhaps if it was more of a purple tone, it would seem to taste more like raspberry.
The first time I tried Mountain Dew Voltage, was in the morning, after have a late night the night before. I often drink Mountain Dew if I am hung over or very tired, as a pick me up to make me feel better and more awake. I think the ginseng that is in Mountain Dew Voltage gave me a pick me up that lasted longer than the one I get from regular Mountain Dew.
I like the label for Mountain Dew Voltage as well. Blue and black are some of my favorite colors, so the color of the label really appeals to me. I think it is a fun and eye catching design. The label is different from other soft drink labels on the market today.
Overall, I give this new flavor of Mountain Dew 2 thumbs up. On August 18, 2008 we will find out the winner of the contest. You can check www.mountaindew.com for more details.

Sounds good! I'll give it a try!!! I love Mountain Dew.
Regular soda doesn't have an abundance of caffeine. Another thing is I never hear adults complain about drinking as much coffee as they do. The target is always children. Coffee is a legal addictive stimulant and a chemical cousin go cocaine, but I guess soda is the real issue right?
I do the Dew every once in a while. I only liked the original and CODE RED !!! I am not too keen on this rasberry though. However I shall try it and see if i turn into a monster or just a more alert human.
Gag- I HATE Mountain Dew.
I have my own concerns, which may or may not be that serious compared to Debra Cornelius'. 1.] This whole trend with energy drinks...What's next, flavored water: Electrified? 2.] If i gave this new Mountain Dew to a squirrel, Do yo think it would gain super speed boost like Speedy Gonzales or Sonic The Hedgehog? 3,] how long before car makers create engines that run off of energy drinks?
My two concerns with this product as I have with all products that can and probably will be consumed by young children ...
1. Do we really need MORE caffeine!
2. blue colored drinks are a favorite of very yound children and many brands of anti-freeze are blue ...a young child could think the anti-freeze is the new drink , or the old blue cool-aid or other blue 'treats'.
Good review though! ;)
My husband might like this... there's times he feels the need for an extra jolt of caffeine. I'll have to go check to see if it will come in diet. Nice part about the label, as really, great marketing is what gets products noticed.
