The MSN Frequent Shopper Program

A Brief Overview

John Vann
MSN has just recently started a brand new rewards program in order to compete with some of the other popular, already well-established rewards programs that are already available - and believe me, there are a lot out there.

A reward program is simply a service that usually provided by a specific company free of charge, and it offers consumers rewards in some form or another in exchange for loyally using their goods or services. Because they are so flexible, there are all kinds of reward programs out there - there are programs that will reward you for using credit cards, debit cards, reward programs for shopping at a specific store (either online or in person) and much more - but the MSN Frequent Shopper Program, despite what the name implies, is vastly different from all of these.

While it is not a completely unique idea in its own right, the MSN Frequent Shopper Program differs from these other programs because you don't have to actually buy anything in order to gain rewards. All you have to do is long on to their website and play any number of fun, free online games. The more games you play, and the longer you play them, the more reward points you will earn. There isn't many games available at the moment, but they have already added one new game just since I've started with the MSN Frequent Shopper Program a week or two ago.

This is a relatively brand new program, but they already have a great selection of prizes available. At the moment they have 2 different digital cameras, a wine refrigerator, sports bottles, a blender, an IPod, and a lot more. Of course, this inventory is likely to increase as the program gets a little bit older. And they prizes are inexpensive, too, starting at 500 credits and going all the way up to 10,000.

However, there are some restrictions - perhaps even more so than some of their competitors. First of all, you can only earn 100 credits per day, and you can only redeem one prize in any 180 day period. These are both tight restrictions when compared to most reward programs, however, since it is relatively easy to earn points through the MSN Frequent Shopper Program, I can see how the restriction is necessary. Despite this downside, this reward program is still one of the best around - and perhaps even better than all of the rest that have been initiated to date.
