The rock artist known as Pink was born Alecia Moore in September of 1979 in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. Her father, James Moore is a Veteran of the Vietnam War and has been a huge inspiration to her personal life as well as her career. While her parents divorced at an early age, Pink was inspired by her guitar playing father and has even recorded songs that they have written together.

In high school, Pink formed her first band and was performing in Philadelphia night clubs by the time she was 14. At age 16, Pink joined the R&B group Choice and was discovered while performing with the group. She was offered a solo recording contract by L. A. Reid of LaFace Records when he saw her performing with Choice. Her first solo album was released in 2000. "Can't Take Me Home", went double platinum and had two top ten singles. Pink was off to a great start with her solo career but wanted to break out of the typical teen rocker mold.

Tired of being the typical pop singer, Pink was eager to get serious about her music. In November of 2001, Pink released the album "M!ssundaztood". The single "Get The Party Started" was an instant success and reached the top of the pop music charts in several countries. The album eventually reached the platinum level of sales 5 times with sales reaching more than 13 million copies. This album alone put Pink at the top when she earned the position as the best selling female artist globally. Pinks music continues to show her individuality as well as her talent.

In January of 2006, Pink married Carey Hart of Las Vegas, Nevada. Hart is the owner of Hart & Hart, a tattoo company based in Las Vegas and is a former competitor in the "Gravity Games". Pink is a Gay Rights Activists and works with The Human Rights Campaign. She is also an animal rights activists lending her star power to PETA in their campaign against Kentucky Fried Chicken for their alleged mistreatment of chicken in slaughter houses.

Whether it be through her music or through her social causes, Pink is a woman that knows what she wants and is careful to set herself apart from the typical female blond artist. She has poked fun at the likes of Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson but when it comes to Pink you get a solid performance, typically mixed with a good cause. Her sly remarks and her refusal to conform are the things that keep Pink fans coming back for more.

Fans seem to love her there as she has been certified as a multi-platinum artist in Australia.
