The Mysterious White Face in the Mirror

Evie Crable
It was one Halloween when I was I think about 11 or 12 which would have to be when I was in the 6th or 7th grade. That Halloween was so fun! I went trick or treating with some of my close friends that had all remained close since elementary school, and it was a little sad knowing that this could be one of our last trick or treat sessions since we were getting older and growing out of the ''trick or treating'' experience. We hit about every house in all of our neighborhoods and boy did we get a load of candy. All types you can imagine, from chocolate Hershey's mini's, to dots, to Milkduds, pretty much anything you name it. After all the fun was over we all went back home and told our goodbyes and that we would see each other the next day at school, and that we would bring our candy so we could swap with each other.

After my mom took me home, I decided that I should really wipe off my face (I had makeup allover it because I was a dead student ha ha, I know, original right?). Since it was late, my house was pitch black except for one living room lamp to guide me on the pathway to the bathroom. The hallway was pitch black too, so I opened the bathroom door and walked in (I was going to turn on the light once I had closed the door). So I looked down real quick and once I looked back up.... behind me I could see a white face that had a look of '' I know something you don't know'.' I panicked. I didn't know if it was just my imagination, or if some ghastly white face was really behind me and looking at me. I felt chills all down my spine, and I got extreme goosebumps. I tried to close my eyes for a few seconds, but when I re opened them the face was still there. I wanted so badly to turn on the bathroom light, but I was so petrified by my paranormal encounter that my body would not allow me to move. I decided I had to be brave, and I flipped on the switch real quick and once I opened my eyes the face was gone. The chills went away, and I was finally at peace. I'm still a little freaked out by the incident, so I always leave the bathroom light on!
