Today there is heated debate amongst Conservatives and Liberals about the agenda of American news media outlets. Liberals say they view papers like the New York Times and The Washington Post present fair and balanced reports on political issues such as the war and economic crisis. Conservatives blast these papers for "bias" and "irresponsible journalism". Channels like Fox News seem to slant towards Conservatives, but shows like The View are clearly unbiased and informative.
When Senator Barack Obama went on his world tour this summer, the media treated it as something of the norm. When Senator Obama faced controversy in light of his former pastor Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the mainstream media was very critical of what kind of role this would play in the Democratic hopefuls Presidential decision making. Journalists like Katie Couric and Keith Olberman challenged Sen. Obama on what his wife meant when she said "for the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country". To many in the mainstream media this was alarming and raised alot of good questions as to how this would effect the Presidential race. On National Public Radio there has been outrage as to why Senator Obama won't answer questions about his involvement with community activist organization ACORN and the allegations that it's organizers are registering dead people and cartoons, and persuading homeless people to vote for Obama.
McCain has had the free pass this year on his path to the White House. Despite being the venerable black sheep of the Republican party the past 20 years, it has been practically ignored by the media that Senator McCain consistently votes along party lines at a whopping 90% compared to Senator Obama's measly 97%. (When he's not busy voting 'Present').
Of course if you believe anything I just said, you're completely blind, deaf, and dumb to the current state or media bias within the borders of this fine country. And honestly you should have your voter registration card shredded before the coming Halloween weekend.
Media bias is real. Anyone who thinks otherwise is either lying to themselves or you.
