The Myths and Facts of the Self-Employed Full-Time Employee
Why You Can, but Shouldn't Always Serve Two Masters
How is such a thing possible? Wouldn't it just be too overwhelming? How does a business owner handle this task? Such questions surround the act of holding down both a "regular" job and an online business, but the real point to keep in mind is that it is indeed workable. The question is, can you handle it? Here are a few important points that you want to consider if you plan to go this route.
What truly matters is the passion to work for yourself and run an online business. If it's really your desire to hold down a day job and still run a home-based business, you need a tremendous amount of focus to concentrate on the task. If you don't really want it enough, and don't possess the necessary passion, you'll only be headed for defeat. If you believe you're really prepared to commit to both jobs, and are ready to do whatever you have to in order to reach that goal, then you're on the right path.
All this means is that you have to use whatever time you can muster from your full time job, and utilize it on your part-time business. Obviously, for many people this means scraping and saving where you can, on everything from eating out to visiting the movie theater. Weekends can also be utilized to work on your online business. So long as you're ready to use most of your free time for the purpose of growing your business, it's quite possible to hold down both jobs.
The keywords of a successful business when you already have a job are "patience" and "passion". Without one, the other won't be enough. When you've made the decision to go ahead and try doing both at the same time, you have to be more efficient at time management than your peers. Stay focused, always concentrating on your dreams and goals. Stay on track, and learn to be patient; success rarely comes overnight, and it never comes easily. It's very possible to hold down a full-time job and still run your own business from home...as long as you're aware of the odds you're up against, and are willing to make the necessary sacrifices to get there.

Post a CommentFully agreed, I had to cut back on my hours on my "day job" to run my home business. It is difficult to juggle both, but isn't the point of having a successful home based business to eventually quit that "day job"?
