The Natural Make-up Guide

One of the most simple looking, yet so hard to get looks is natural make up. Walking the tight rope between no make up and natural looking make up can be tedious but a light hand and the right products can do wonders. Put down the eyeshadow for a minute and give it a go yeah?

The Bases:
Your going to want something light, a tinted moisturiser even. The point isn't to get 100% flawless coverage, 'cause thats not natural. You just want something to even it all out and brighten you up.

KORA Tinted Moisturiser - so light and moisturising, plus its got spf. Hands down the best tinted moisturiser I've ever used.

Maybelline Mineral Power Concealer - This nifty little concealer has enough coverage to cover redness and circles but still be virtually undectable and seamless.

Perk Me Up:
I'm a blush fanatic. My skin needs all the colour it can get, but at the same time its so fair that many shades make me look like a clown, so I've finally hunted down the most au naturale cheek perker-uppers.

The Body Shop Lip and Cheek Stain - I can see this flattering most skin shades, you can apply more to get more colour easily and its just so natural looking. Not obvious blush look or shimmer in it at all.

Benefit High Beam - On really good days, I skip the base all together and just use this on my cheek bones, nose, chin and forehead. Just itty-bitty dots are needed and it really brightens you up, gives you a glow.

Finish Up With The Eyes & Lips:

Lashings of mascara and bold liners would completely kill the whole natural thing we're doing. So keep anything eye and lip related light and no bright colours can be touched... I'm Sorry.

Clinique Naturally Glossy Mascara - If I had ever tried a clear masacara I'd recommened that, but for now this is as close to natural I've ever found in mascara. It won't volumize at all really, or legnth more then a millimeter or so, but on curled lashes it makes it look like you have to die for natural lashes all on there own.

Lucas Paw Paw Ointment - Yes, for your lips. I love this stuff, it just does everything. On your lips it will keep them soft and moisturised and add a natural sheen to them.

So getting the natural look takes a few more products then we'd like to let on most probably. But if people want to think my skin is naturally that even and I'm that wide eyed, why not let them? Its a nice little illusion we've got going!
