A woman from Broomfield, Colorado, set up her task to shed some extra pounds. Shannon Davis, who had weight 589 had listened to warnings from friends that she may die if she does not lose weight. Listening to this advice Shannon had set her mind to go for it and the road ahead was not simple. In the end result Shannon had lost not ten, or twenty or even a hundred pounds. Shannon had managed to lose 300 pounds over a three year period and not from any snake oil remedy.
Shannon who appeared on Good Morning America had let viewers in on her secret which really has been around for ages. The answer Shannon gave "simple sweat equity".
As Shannon noted it was not easy and to lose weight you have to put in time and effort.
With her own inner power she now dedicates herself to a week long work out routine which consists of an hour of cardio for four days and weightlifting with a trainer for the other three days.
She remembers the first time going to the local gym and not being able to take one step on the treadmill. As she recalled of her first few days on her journey to weight loss, "I didn't want people to see me. I wanted to be invisible.
The changes in which came into her life not only were here physical appearance but also on the inside. She has learned to enjoy an indulgence with her everyday healthy eating style and not belittle herself for it.
According to Davis when your dieting you will mess up, the thing to learn is everyone does make mistakes.
As far as her dieting plan she simply follows a healthy diet with three simple daily meals. She does remain satisfied with the reduced calorie intake in comparison to previous day's calories by focusing on quality of food and not amount of food.
In case you're wondering she still does have cravings but has learned how to manage them. As she puts it if there is a cookie around she will consume it and forgive herself for it. You can indulge on occasion not everyday.
Shannon's current indulgence is simply celebrating with friends right now. Something she never would have done three years ago. Back then she would have remained at home basically hidden from the world.
This weekend Shannon is hosting a "300 Pound Down Party". The party will bring a whole array of friends together whom she met along her journey across the country.
Each one of those friends is on a similar quest like Shannon's which is a key component she feels is necessary for her success to weight loss. Shannon makes a noteworthy point. It is important to have those around you who will support you and not put you down.
Now having her journey, Shannon wishes to share with others the tools she had used to have her current success.
Shannon's next step to come is her desire to begin a non-profit organization to pay for gym memberships and personal trainers for those who are obese.
Now how does Shannon feel of her new body as she noted "I'm getting there". She still remembers how she was back then and she started to this current day and now knows it is a lot different now.
