Conditioners will most certainly help your situation with frizz. Do you wash and condition every time? If you don't you are not helping your scalp or your hair at all. You are only washing away all of the oils and skin cells from the scalp and not replacing them. Even if you have an oily scalp, a correctly pH balanced shampoo and conditioner will enhance your hair's gorgeous shine. So in order to get your hair not to frizz, use a conditioner that will not cause you a buildup. Again, please use no Pantene products. Thicker conditioners tend to stay on the hair like a mask, and sit in place to do their job, whereas thinner conditioners will just drip and run off of the hair, leaving you as dry as you were before. So use only about the amount that will fit into the palm of your hand, and rub throughout the hair strands, not just on the scalp.
Allow the conditioner to sit on the hair until your shower is over, and then rinse out all but the smallest amount. Leaving just a tiny bit on the hair will not only protect it from wind and sun damage, but also helps to naturally keep the frizz from coming back. A great product to invest in would be Silkworks lotion for your hair. This is good on all types of hair including ethnic. While your hair is wet, take a dime-sized amount between your hands and massage through the ends of the hair and on the top layer. Style your hair as normal, and let it dry on. There is no need to wash this out, as it is a protectant and a smoother. Flyaways and frizzies are a thing of the past when using this on your hair on a regular basis. You can get this at Wal-mart or your local beauty supply store for about $8 a bottle, and it will last you for upwards of 3 months using it every day.
If you have any more questions about your hair type and ways of keeping it in shape, speak to your favorite hairdresser or cosmetologist. They can give you new and better ways or hairstyles that will fit your scalp and hair.
