It was not too surprising that I came up empty-handed once again today.
I started to wonder if it was a simple Navy strategic move to intentionally force all the Mighty Mouse staplers to assume other identities in order to hide from foreign arms dealers. As you see, there are red crystal staplers, red Mickey Mouse staplers, red Raggedy Anne staplers, red cardinal bird staplers, and even red stapleless staplers.
But, no Mighty Mouse stapler.
Though I did learn a little more about Milton's famous stapler, on Office Space. Milton's stapler was a red Swingline. There's a unique bit of trivia for you to know too, but it was still not a red Mighty Mouse stapler.
So, I did what I usually do when the Internet disappoints me and I get some half-cocked hair brained idea in my head that I simply can't let rest until I do something about it.
If I got to have a Mighty Mouse stapler, and there is no Mighty Mouse stapler to be found, than I am only left with one alternative. Come up with a Mighty Mouse stapler of my own!
Shh...I don't want to blow my freelance writer cover, but in reality I am a tad bit clever with arts and crafts.
Today's assignment: Recover a red Mighty Mouse stapler and place it on my computer desk to keep the little ladybug one company.
The briefing: Quickly gather a miniature red stapler, a tiny Mighty Mouse sticker, a keychain ring, some extra wire, and a small can of MinWax clear polyurethane
I had the assignment accomplished in no time, and all for about $2.50. The little red stapler got a sticker, a polyurethane coating for protection, and a keychain ring secured with a bit more wire through a hole in the stapler so it is now portable!
Mighty Mouse looks just so cute on a tiny red stapler too! Even better than a desk drawer, he attaches to my hip so he stays right by my side. Less danger of Mighty Mouse being swiped.
NCIS eat your heart out! I've apprehended the Mighty Mouse stapler and I'm not putting him back in DiNozza's desk.
Unless, of course, DiNozza decides to come autograph Mighty Mouse for me. Then, and only then, I might share and place nice with others.
In the meantime, the Mighty Mouse stapler is coming with me. Don't worry. If my car explodes and I'm in it, plastic melts really quickly so there shouldn't be any Mighty Mouse stapler left to argue over.
All right now, enough small talk. I'm off to the save the day!!!

Post a CommentThe stapler on the show was blue.
I also tried finding the might mouse stapler to no avail. However, on the epidode that aired on May 5, 2009 I realized that the stapler was one of the new staple-free staplers that crayola produces in their new "total tools" line of products. Maybe that will help! =)
A correction with my apologies...I mispelled DiNozzo. The correct spelling of the NCIS character's name is Anthony DiNozzo. DiNozzo with an "o"and not an "a." See! You get so upset when you can't find a Mighty Mouse stapler that you can't even spell write! (right?)
