The NECA Ninja Turtles Toy Line is Now Even More Difficult to Find

NECA's Black and White TMNT Set Are Still Easy to Find

Believe it or not, NECA's very own line of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures has become quite a rarity nowadays. These figures are also known as the comic book Ninja Turtle figures. Around 2009, these figures were very affordable at eight to sixteen dollars apiece. Now they are up sixty dollars per turtle at both online shops and novelty stores. If you live in a big city such as Los Angeles or New York, you may find them at retail price. The rarest figures from the NECA Turtles line would be the clamshell figures that come with the street bases and extra accessories. However, the one individual turtle that people seem to have difficulty finding happens to be the clamshell Raphael that comes with the lamppost. This particular turtle can easily fetch for seventy five dollars on eBay. They were somewhat simple to find when they were released back in 2008. Raphael was always the favorite among fans because of the head sculpt and weapons he came with. Many collectors were not lucky enough to obtain the Raphael figure during their release. I wasn't even aware about their existence until 2009 when I stumbled across one at an FYE store.

The Mirage Group (www.miragelicensing.com) no longer sells these amazing figures at the original retail price. I was lucky to purchase one box around March of 2010, but I didn't they sold like hotcakes. The only place you can buy the NECA TMNT four-pack (boxed set) would be at www.eBay.com. Unfortunately, you will not find these at affordable prices. It is a bit of a let down since NECA has official retired their line of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys. Most TMNT fans consider these figures as the best ones ever released in stores. The Movie Star Ninja Turtle figures that hit toy stores back in 1991 are also considered as one of the best TMNT toys ever released. Those figures can easily cost you over fifty dollars each. Collectors prefer the green colored NECA Turtles toys over the black and white versions because they seem more authentic. You can still find the black and white boxed set of these figures at retail price at many online stores. Just make sure you pay between 45 to 55 dollars for the uncolored set because that may be the retail price. I may actually consider buying this set because the are immense in detail.
