The New Nestle Crunch Crisp Candy Bar

Crispy Wafers, Chocolate Creme

The Nestle Crunch Crisp is one of those candy bars that you eat when you're craving that specific type of candy bar. You want the chocolatey taste, but you also want some crunch.

This new candy bar satisfies both. It's a good 'replacement' for the old standby Nestle Crunch bar, which I really slacked off eating over the past few years. This new Crunch Crisp bar is much more satisfying. It offers even more crunch by way of the layers of crispy wafers stacked over one another, a slathering of chocolate-y cream filling sandwiched in between each cookie. The top layer is also covered with crispies before a final coating of chocolate covers the entire bar. The Nestle Crunch Crisp bar is light and sweet, but not too sweet. The intense chocolate flavor still prevails. This bar made my mouth water and took me to a temporary paradise.

The Nestle Crunch Crisp candy bar is actually quite large. I ate only 2/3 of the 1.75oz. bar while sitting in traffic, and that was enough to leave me fulfilled. I saved the 3rd that was left for a late afternoon snack. I don't know how much of the 240 calories/13 grams of fat I was able to delay in consuming at the time, but being able to get away with eating only part of a candy bar made me feel really good.

Nutritional aspects of the new Nestle Crunch Crisp candy bar:
65mg sodium, 1 gram fiber, 0 trans fat, 3 grams protein, 4% calcium, 2%iron

The Nestle Crunch Crisp candy bar had 'FORTHEKIDINYOU.COM' stamped on the wrapper in big bold letters. Of course this drew me in and I had to go check it out.

When I typed 'FORTHEKIDINYOU.COM' in the address bar of my browser, it redirected me to the NestleCrunch.com website. Apparently this was part of their marketing campaign when they introduced the new candy bar earlier this year.

Not only did this site provide me with nutritional information on Nestle Crunch, games I could play, and a short movie on the history of the Nestle Crunch bar, but it provided me the opportunity to try a new Nestle Crunch Crisp candy bar for free. In July of 2007 they were traveling to various cities though out the country offering tasting tours and handing out free samples. Unfortunately, these seem to have ended in September of 2007.

If you missed the tasting tours, you can still sample a new Nestle Crunch Crisp candy bar for free by entering at www.playinyourday.com. There, they are giving away 2,000 candy bar coupons a day between the hours of 9am - 5pm(PT) in order to, 'Help bring out the kid in you'.

If you don't want to wait the 6-8 weeks it may take to receive your candy bar coupon in the mail, I think it would be worth it to just purchase one. I believe I spent about .85 at Wal-Mart. $.85 is a bit high for the average candy bar, but this one is a little larger than average and it is definitely satisfying. I figure I could always cut it in half and save some for later. I hope they'll come down in price, but if not, I still plan to purchase it again!
