What You Can Expect from the New Bronx Bombers Stadium in 2009

As all sports fans know, the New York Yankees are getting a new home just across the parking lot from there current home. Ground broke on the new stadium August 16,2006, the 58th anniversary of Babe Ruth's death, with team owner George Steinbrenner, NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, along with other New York City notables. This is a date that Yankee fans will never forget. The new home of the Bronx Bombers will open April 2009 to a host of new, upgraded features that will have fans coming from far and wide. According to Yankees president Randy Levine, "It will be the most spectacular fan-friendly stadium ever built." I am sure there will be no doubt in anybodies mind, considering the stadium will belong to the MLB team with the most outrageous payroll.

The only thing that remains the same between the two stadiums will be the Field Dimensions (Left Field 318',Left Center 399',Center 408',Right Center 385',Right Field 314'). The similarities stop there all together. The new stadium boast 16 elevators, and an expansive 59' High by 101' wide 16MM True HD Led main video scoreboard. In comparison to the 84 year old historical stadium, the new stadium will house 52,325 fans and they have increased the Private luxury suites to 56 from 19. For those fans with children, one of the most important changes you'll embrace is the restroom ratio, there will now be 1 for every 60 fans from 1 for every 89. These changes are bound to make the "NEW" Yankee Stadium the stadium that all MLB teams will model themselves after.

We, as baseball fans love our food!!! There will be numerous venues available for dining, from the outdoor eateries (names TBD), The Legends Club, 2 Legends Dugout Lounges, Grill Room, and The Yankees Steakhouse. Ladies, you may just forget that you are at a baseball stadium, as you sip Cosmos at the Martini Bar with you girlfriends. Is it possible to ask for more convenience for Yankee Fans? There is a major expansion in the Team Stores, stretching from 6800 square feet, to a total of 11,560 amongst 4 stores. The concourse will almost double in size and boast an incredible 32' wide for all those hurried fans.

The precise location of the New Yankee Stadium is parallel from the Current Yankee Stadium, at 161st and 164th Streets. The surface will be natural Grass and the stadium will of course be open air. At this point, there is no exact opening day determined. But rest assured that as the time nears, it will be one of the hottest tickets on town. The New York Yankees and the State of New York have outdone themselves with the expectations laid out before all of us fans.

Please use the link to find more information and updates during the continued progress as we move forward to Opening day, April 2009.
