The News Today

The look on his face as the page was turned

The second page of news was learned

The broken rail of his crew had fallen

The tears of sadness shock trembles

He knew he had a bad taste in that job

Expected no matter just how

The fact it had to get done

No matter the risk it initialed

I was fortunate to have listened

To my gut instincts

Today I could have been dead

The day I was with flu like symptoms

I listened to my gut this once

The tears roll down now like guilt

The stream of tears for all our years

A crew we made it this far!

We however wear the scars

The work and weary of ours

This day so scary the risks we've

Lived to take.

Today I lost my crew

The fact we had no choice

It's the mission with little choice

When the work needs to get done

Somebody has to do it

No matter how dangerous

No matter the risk of death

The fact no matter the risk it initialed

Today I could have been dead
