Words that don't go together such as philosophy and deceit describe the author. Clancy Martin grew up in high end jewelry where he called himself a storyteller to sell jewelry. He is so good he sold a fake Rolex as the real thing. He sampled a life of drugs, diamonds and women. But how does this make him the next best thing?
What happens next is remarkable because he completed his Ph.D. in Philosophy. He now translates Nietzsche. Another nonfiction book, "Love, Lies and Marriage" is scheduled next year.

Clancy Martin's book, "How to Sell," is a coming of age story set among prostitutes, cocaine and deceit. It's described as sexy, funny and scary. Since HBO and a Brad Pitt movie are already possibilities, then they must see him as the next best thing too.
He may appear on Oprah and he is deciding between movies or HBO. Movies usually take longer so HBO might get "How to Sell."
