The NFL Hall of Fame has at least one board member representing each NFL city. Other board members are "at large" meaning that they can come from any city. This board votes and decides which nominees will be inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame that year. The majority of the board is made up of sports writers.
Fans can submit nominations to the NFL Hall of Fame by writing to Pro Football Hall of Fame 2121 George Halas Drive NW Canton, Ohio 44708. To visit the Hall of Fame, tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for children. Family prices and senior citizen prices are also available.
Teams with the most inductees
The Chicago Bears top the list with 26. Coming in second are the Green Bay Packers with 21. And the team with the third most inductees are the New York Giants with 18.
Colleges with the most alumni inducted
In the number one position are Notre Dame and Southern California with 10 alumnus each inducted into the Hall of Fame. In second place we have Michigan with a respectable 7. Three schools are in the third position with 6 alumnus each, they are: Alabama, Illinois, and Ohio State.
Inductees 1963-2006
1963, the first year of inductions, there were seventeen. Included among those first inductees are Jim Thorpe, Red Grange, and Tim Mara. The most recent round of inductees in 2006, included six new inductees among the six are: Troy Aikman, Warren Moon, Reggie White, and John Madden.
