Overall Draft Analysis: The Titans' 2008 class can thank Johnson, the NFL's best rusher in 2009, for ranking in the top 35 drafts of the decade. After an electric performance at the '08 scouting combine, Johnson garnered a first round selection, stunning fans and foes, ever since. The league's most elite homerun hitter recorded an astonishing 22 runs of +20 yards and 7 runs of 40+ yards, during his second NFL season. Johnson's 2,006 rushing yards (5.6 yards per carry) in 2009 rank No. 5 all-time, while the Offensive Player of the Year astonishingly broke Marshall Faulk's all-time record for yards from scrimmage with 2,509. Further remarkable, Johnson has amassed 100+ yards in 15 of the past 21 regular season games, including 11 consecutive totals to end the '09 season. Ultimately, Johnson's selection may prove amongst the most valuable picks of the past decade, if the rare talent can continue at a surefire Hall-of-Fame pace.

For the third time in franchise history, the team posted 13 wins in 2008. In addition to Johnson, Jones and Hayes have also assumed prominent roles as pass rushers during the Titans' recent successes. All of the remaining picks have also recorded playing time in Tennessee, but to a limited extent. Regardless, the future remains bright for the Titans, thanks to the superstar selection of Johnson and respective potential of Jones, Hayes, and Hawkins, in particular.
