The Night Came By

A Poem

Bridgitte Williams

The night came by...

And I was wondering.

As my dreamy eyes rested on the silent phone.

While a summer storm was thundering.

Have you even thought.

One single thought of me?

The night came by...

And I was wondering.

So dark.

These fears.

So simple.

These tears.

The night came by.

And it left me alone.

I guess I should be glad.

Glad that you are gone.

What the morning sun will bring to me.

You don't deserve.

Warm rays will wash away the pain.

All of the hurt.

The night came by.

This time, I smiled.

The deep dark, it held me tight.

The night came by.

Good one. Isn't it funny how the night holds so much power over our thought process?
