The Night Goes to Anoop... And Megan's Boobs Looked like Bartlett Pears..

Country night on American Idol offered some interesting performances, some quite odd and memorable, and others quite awful.

Michael Sarver started the night off with a good, solid version of "Ain't Goin' Down Till the Sun Comes Up" and being that this is his genre, he will likely be safe.

Lil Rounds sung a mediocre version of Martina McBride's "Independence Day," though despite her mediocre performance, she will be safe since the judges have been pushing her.

Allison Iraheta did a great job with "Blame It on Your Heart" and she definitely has the most mature voice of any 16 year old I've ever heard (with perhaps the exception of Judy Garland of course). She is by far the best of the girls.

Scott MacIntyre was quite forgettable on piano and he is getting boring. One of my faves, Danny Gokey, sang Carrie Underwood's "Jesus Take The Wheel." The song just did not suit his voice, and he sounded like a good singer whose large voice is being stuffed into some little box. Danny needs to learn to pick better songs-he's already chosen some snooze fests like Mariah Carey's "Hero" and you can't help but wish he would wake up.

Despite the praise, Kris Allen wasn't particularly memorable, and he and Alexis Grace could be in the Bottom Three tomorrow night.

As for the others, Adam Lambert did a very odd yet interesting and if I can be so bold, very good version of "Ring of Fire." Although Simon criticized it, Randy Jackson was correct-Adam was putting his own spin on it, and even if you didn't like it, you have to at least say it was unique. He definitely had the whole Jim Morrison thing going on for a moment there, in the sense that it felt a little drugged out.

And once again, Megan Joy's performance was quite awful. Her range is non-existent and the way she sings her notes is done in such a phony and affected style. She also made sure to cough several times. She will likely win sympathy votes.

The ironic thing is that having the flu or not doesn't matter since she sucks regardless.

The overall best vocal went to Anoop Dog, where he did an excellent version of "You Were Always On My Mind." Anoop has a very good voice, but not as good as Danny, I don't think. Though tonight Anoop did outsing Danny, largely in part to having chosen a better song.

The night closed with Matt Giraud on piano, and overall he is a better pianist and singer than Scott, though he comes across as somewhat dull in personality. But he could surprise us if he sticks around.

I still think that of the guys, Danny and Adam are the best. While both have talent, the difference is that Adam understands his voice better, and knows what songs to pick. One can see that he's been doing this for quite a while.

So my predictions for bottom three: Alexis Grace, Kris Allen and maybe Megan? I think she should be the one cut, but she's still the pick for Vote For the Worst, so unfortunately she is likely to be around a while.

Until tomorrow night...
