The Nikon D700 FX-Format Digital SLR Camera: Review
An Honest Review of the Nikon D700 FX-Format Digital SLR Camera
The bright LCD is a great attribute on this camera. This makes it easy to see what you're doing without having to squint your eyes. The LCD is so effectively bright that any kind of day use will be no problem for you. A lot of camera's LCD screens are difficult to see during the day - not on this one. And of course with the LCD being so bright, using the camera at night is super easy.
The images are very crisp and include amazing colors and tones. I do a lot of outdoor, nature shots, and I was pleasantly surprised the camera was able to pick up so many earth tones. I highly recommend it for this reason alone. The Nikon D700 FX-Format Digital SLR Camera also produces very little noise when you use it at ISO 1600. Most cameras are noisy as ever on this setting, so this is an attribute that separates it from the rest of the pack.
The camera itself has a very comfortable fit for your hands. It's lightweight and you won't feel like you're about to drop the thing because it's so clunky. If you're looking for a camera with small lag time then this is the camera for you.
The sensor cleaner feature is one of my favorites. Many of us photographers find ourselves, myself include, having to remove dust in post-production. The Nikon guys got it right on this one. Post pictures are completely dust-free saving you money and time if you use your camera for professional jobs.
The cons on the Nikon D700 FX-Format Digital SLR Camera include the battery door and the locking mechanism for the flash card. The battery door is difficult to open at the beginning. You'll get the hang of it fairly quickly though, so this isn't a big deal. In terms of the licking mechanism for the flash card, it's not as secure as I would like. I prefer the D300 in this regard, but the D700 is nearly as good, I'm just picky.
While the camera is generally quiet, if you find yourself taking a lot pictures in environments that require near silence, this may not be the camera for you. It's quieter than most cameras that have similar features and power, but this isn't a camera that would fair well in a recording studio when the lights are on. One more little drawback is the lack of an infrared remote than used to come with earlier models.
The Nikon D700 FX-Format Digital SLR Camera is a powerful piece of equipment that can quickly help to provide your personal or professional life with amazing pictures. It's a great value buy and I would recommend it without reservation.
