The No. 1 Employer to Work For..

H. Gal
I was trying to imagine what it would be like if God had a human resources department. Jesus said, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me." (Matthew 16:24) He said in Matthew 5:11, "Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake." Being a Christian means being persecuted, hated, reviled, tortured, jailed, abandoned, beaten, and killed among other things.

Doesn't sound like any job anybody would ever willingly choose. So why then do thousands of people keep running to the foot of Jesus's blood soaked cross to join up?

Working for God means all of the following:

1) All expenses paid. You will have what you need when you need it. Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

2) No significant travel required. Work is available both at home and abroad. Mark 16:15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature."

3) All emotional, mental, and spiritual needs are met. Matthew 6:33 "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

4) Unlimited access to the living Word of God and all of its mysteries, which is the manual, used for all life situations. 2 Timothy 3:16 "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness."

5) Access to direct communication to God Himself and therefore everything He possesses-wisdom, wealth, authority, etc... Hebrews 4:16 "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need." John 17:20-23 20 "I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23 I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me."

However, the reasons listed above are not reasons why you should run to Jesus. Jesus came for a ransom for many. Matthew 20:28 "...just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many." He came to be a sacrifice for you and me. Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

See we are guilty of breaking God's laws one way or another and on judgment day our own conscience will condemn us or set us free. James 2:10-11 "For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all." Psalm 14:3 "They have all turned aside, They have together become corrupt; There is none who does good, No, not one." Romans 14:12 "So then each of us shall give account of himself to God."

The only price to be paid for breaking God's laws is death by living eternally in hell. Jesus paid the price so we don't have to. By acknowledging the fact that we are indeed guilty and realizing we are endanger of facing eternity in hell because we broke God's law, only then does Jesus's gift make sense. Confess your sins to God today, trust and accept Jesus's death on the cross in faith today and then never look back. Read your bible every day and obey what you read.

The journey won't always be easy, but it's one you can't afford not to take!
