So many Americans are on a mission to try and lose weight. Many have had success while others have just flailed around hopelessly hoping to wish themselves thin. Wishing yourself thin isn't the best way to accomplish this, but with a little discipline and some guidance you are sure to reach your goals.

One of the most helpful tips I have ever learned, was no starches and no sugars. This one simple concept has helped me to lose weight. The tips came along with the highly acclaimed HCG diet, and it works. However, there are a lot of people out there that don't need to lose as much as I do, and they just want to shed ten pounds, and get on with life. The key to any weight loss program and keeping it off is just implementing something that you can stick with.

In order to lose weight, you can't expect to do it with a magical pill or a magical solution but you can use some magic tricks. Eliminating soda, bread, and sweet tea, many Americans would begin to see a ten pound difference in a very short period of time. However, many just lack the discipline necessary to make it happen. It isn't hard, but you have to train yourself to do it and change your way of life.

In addition to following the no starches and no sugars plan, you should eat a minimum of two apples per day. Apples are high in fiber and fiber helps to flush the body of toxins. Apples are also going to help you feel fuller because of their fiber content, so you can eat one about a half hour before your meal and that will act as a buffer to ensure that you are not able to overeat. I have tried this and it works great, so I use it a lot.

There is a second apple trick that is defined in the HCG diet. This trick is to use an apple day. If you aren't losing weight, you may be retaining water. One common reason for this is constipation. Constipation will keep you full of water, and your body will hold toxins as a result. So, if you are swelling or constipated implement the apple day. An apple day begins around lunch time, and you would eat one apple every three hours. This will keep you full believe it or not! Drink plenty of water and this will help you to begin seeing results of the flushing out process. The next day you will feel much lighter, and you won't be bloated from retaining so much water.

The second simple trick to weight loss on the no sugar and no starches plan is to eat a minimum of two to three grapefruits a day. Grapefruit enzymes are powerful, and are known to help metabolize and burn fat. The best time to eat them is usually after lunch, and after dinner no later than 8 p.m. The grapefruit will also help you lose water, but is more widely known for the fat burning effect. In addition grapefruit can help raise your metabolism.
