The Nokia 6301: Converging Your Mobile Phone and Landline

The Nokia 6301 may hold the answer since it offers users voice and data mobility across GSM and Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) via Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA) technology.

Unlicensed Mobile Access (UMA) technology allows users to use GSM network or WLAN network to access mobile services, similar to T-Mobile's HotSpot at Home. UMA technology can give users the benefits of landline and mobile phone in one device, including flawless indoor coverage, sound quality and affordability. The Nokia 6301 will provide users with just one handset that can work everywhere with enhanced voice services and UMA technology has been proven to provide excellent coverage and sound quality even when the user is in an area where mobile phone reception is poor.

The Nokia 6301 only weighs 93 grams and measures 13.1mm thin and has a modern monoblock design. The Nokia 6301 has clean lines and recessed buttons that is highlighted by a stainless steel frame and hand-hugging curves that makes the device easy to grip. Aside from offering UMA technology, the Nokia 6301 also has a 2 mega pixel camera with 8x digital zoom and full screen viewfinder so users can take great shots just using their mobile phones.

Other features of the Nokia 6301 includes, a 2 inch QVGA screen that delivers clear images, a USB / PC synchronization, internal memory of 30MB expandable via a microSD card slot so there is ample space to store your music, videos or pictures, voice dialing, voice command, and voice recording. The Nokia 6301 also has an MP3 player and FM radio, the box includes a 128 MB microSD card so users can save their favorite tracks and listen right away. The Nokia 6301 also has an integrated hands-free speaker.

Also included with the Nokia 6301 is the Nokia Desk Stand DT-23, an attractive desk stand that holds the Nokia 6301 and keeps it charged while connected to a Wireless Local Area Network.

The Nokia 6301's battery life can last up to 3.5 hours of talk time and has a standby time of around 14 days. Expect the Nokia 6301 to be available in select European markets during the fourth quarter of 2007. The estimated retail price of the Nokia 6301 is 230 Euros before subsidies and taxes.
