The Norwoods Vs. The Kardashians

T. S. Jones
Short of being mom and manager to Brandy and Ray J, not much is known about Sonja Norwood. Now she has a new name - Plaintiff. A lawsuit has been filed by Norwood against the Kardashian family, mainly Kim and her siblings, for alleged credit card abuse on her American Express card.

Not since the fiasco over the "fake" marriage covering up the pregnancy have we heard the name Sonja Norwood. She has been known to be a hard manager when it came to her children's careers. Ray J's career however continues to be moderate yet steady; to put it lightly. Maybe the sextape can turn things around for him, look what it did for Paris.

Sonja claims the family charged and estimated $120,635.65 between 2006 and 2007, all while saying they were employed by Brandy and her family in one capacity or another. They were even shopping in their own stores Dash and Smooch, which the Kardashian sisters own.

You already know Kim used to date Ray J and was his shining star on the tape. What some of you may not know is Kim was Brandy's stylist while sister Khloe was her personal assistant.

The suit goes on to say that Kim and Khloe shared the benefits of the card with sister Kourtney and brother, Robert Jr. Sonja is not only asking for the $120,635.65, the amount she claims the Kardashians spent on her card, she is also asking for $825,000 plus interest. The question that comes to mind is where were the credit card bills going? Why allow the charges to accumulate instead of looking into the first charge or set of charges you know you for a fact weren't made by you? Sonja says she gave Kim permission to use the card one time in 2004, at that time Kim and Khloe were employed by Brandy, something no one boasts about these days.

Kim, Khloe and the rest of the Kardashian family will begin a new season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians on the E! Entertainment channel.

Ray J has a new single with Yung Berg pumping the airwaves with positive resopnse called Sexy Can I. Maybe the sextape will prove positive for Ray J after all.

Brandy is recognized as a television and movie star, a Grammy award winning singer and mother to daughter Sy'rai Iman. She was part of a $50 million dollar lawsuit involving a fatal car crash on California's popular and heavily congested 405 freeway, resulting in the death of Awatef Abdoudihaji, her sons Merwan and Kareem Mohamed were injured. The charges were dropped in 2007 after the investigation concluded that Brandy was at fault in the accident.

You would think Sonja, portraying herself as an intelligent person, would have used her smarts to retrieve the card after the girls were let go. She also could have cancelled the card on the chance that they may have the number memorized and have a new card issued to her. The Kardashian's rep says the suit is "meritless" and is willing to fight the charges. Hopefully Sonja has learned something from this situation. When someone is employed by you, there shouldn't be a need to allow them your card. You pay them to work for you, therefore they have they're own money. Not to mention the Kardashians came from money.

I've been writing about the entertainment world for some time now. I enjoy the aspects of it, the ins and outs, and some of the drama is like a great reality show. My wish is to write for a few magazines and...   View profile

wow this is a very interesting article, I've heard nothing about this at all. I'm with you though, after they were let go she should have gotten her card back.
