In 1989, the year of the Tiananmen Square Chinese atrocity, China was just a regional bully wannabe with more than 2 billion men under arms. Today, barely 20 years later, China in growing to be a world super-beast with over a 2 billion man under arms with economic muscle and technological capacity only seconded by the United States, for now. And while the media inside the United States wants everyone to focus on the Al-Qaida bogeyman and treat China as our new bud, everyone else is taken serious notice of the new bull of the woods, Communist China. While our concentration is being fixated on a mosquito, there is a 2 billion plus ton guerrilla getting ready to stand up in the middle of our crystal palace.
I am not trying to belittle the terrorist threat of the Al-Qaida, but prior to September 2001 few citizens had ever heard to them, less than knew how to spell Al-Qaida. And a good argument could be made that the threat posed by Al-Qaida today is a consequence of U.S invasion and occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan. But, it is China who posses the more immediate threat to the U.S, and the world. Every since the entry into the World Trade Organization, at the behest of the U.S under the senior Bush Administration, and the transferring of trade restrictions and authorization from the State Department to the Commerce Dept. under the Clinton Administration, China has systematically flipped the script on the United States to the point that not only has Red China now taken over once U.S dominated industries, both at home and internationally, but has taken physical control of critical U.S infrastructure. China has Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles aimed at the U.S. It is building and air and naval force to challenge the U.S. China has repeatedly hacked into U.S government and commercial computer systems and disrupted communication and power systems. China has stolen information including classified information on seven U.S. thermonuclear warheads, including every currently deployed thermonuclear warhead in our ballistic missile arsenal. The communist State has stolen classified design information for an enhanced radiation weapon (commonly known as the "neutron bomb"), which neither the United States, nor any other nation, has yet deployed. It has obtained information on the some of the most advance U.S. thermonuclear warheads, missiles, and other weaponry, according to the Cox Report issued to Congress in 1998 .
China has on several occasions demonstrated the ability to penetrate our defenses at sea and fire missiles from a submarine off the U.S coasts and disrupt U.S Naval exercises by popping up in the middle of U.S battle groups. With the communist Chinese's unprecedented holdings of U.S debt, and this government's unwillingness to responsibly handle it's own financial deficiency, it holds the U.S by the balls and can demand concessions that would have been unthinkable 20 years ago in exchange for supporting the U.S spend-addicted economy. When Al-Qaida rises to such a threat to the U.S then we should focus appropriately on them.
But, just as with past bogeymen behind the curtain there stands Wall Street and western financial and commercial interest and profiteers. It's not as though China just appeared on the map with its billion population. And it is not as though the leaders of the communist regime fell out bed, bumped their head, and built this economic and military superpower in less then it takes to raise a child. It was Richard Nixon who opened the door to the communist nation. And not much really came from that. But, communism was still and four letter word to those who loved freedom. The Russian Bear was still screaming, "Down with America!" Could you imagine Russia giving such open political and commercial favor and priviledge during the "Cold War"? Not hardly.
In " The Art of War" , Sun Tzu, states " He who knows when he can fight and when he cannot, will be victorious." and "Know your enemy and know yourself and you can fight a hundred battles without disaster." This seems to be the playbook that the Chinese are masterfully going by. Check out what Lt. General Mi Zhenyu, Vice Commander, Academy of Military Sciences is reported to have said, " for a relatively long time it will be absolutely necessary that we quietly nurse our sense of vengeance...We must conceal our abilities and bide our time." Ever since it was smacked down by the U.S in the aftermath of Tiananmen Square and turned back in its attempts to achieve it's long held desire to reclaim Taiwan, China has built its military capability to fight only one fight, against the United States - and to win without possibly firing a shot. The Chinese have learned from the mistakes of themselves but of others who have sought to defeat America. Rather than come directly at us, they have presented themselves, with great aide of the U.S Establishment Media and corporate elites, to our blind commercial ambition. They have presented themselves as a Trogan Horse. But the critical three differences China posses that the other bogeymen did not is, first China is not European with common customs and motivations. Secondly, it has centuries of pinned up frustration from being mistreated by European powers. From the Opium Wars it had with Great Briton in the 1800's to it's war with Japan prior to WW 2 China is due payback - BIGTIME! And this doesn't count it's countless public humiliation of the U.S thwarting its attempt to proceed with its domestic and nationalistic affairs, in regards to how it treats it citizens and recapturing what it considers its property - Taiwan. And thirdly, as stated in 2010 REPORT TO CONGRESS OF THE U.S.-CHINA ECONOMIC AND SECURITY REVIEW COMMISSION , and many previous Congressional reports as far back as the Cox Report of the Clinton Administration, any foreign company wishing to setup business in China are compelled to surrender property rights and provide technology and know-how in return for market access.
The Chinese doesn't necessarily have to steal information from U.S high-tech companies, such as GM, Boeing, or 3M, they just have to have them setup production facilities in it's country and do business with one of its state-controlled companies. When U.S and other nation's companies does business with Chinese companies, such as China Ocean Shipping Company [C.O.S.C.O] and Huawei Technologies, they are virtually doing business with the Chinese Military, the People's Liberation Army [P.LA]. By having nearly every western country, most importantly the U.S, relocating it's production and manufacturing facilities within their borders and doing business it's military, via it's companies, gives it considerable influence and advantage over those nations. They become the top-dog on the international stage. More than any other nation has ever done. You have to give the devil his due. Though the allowing of Red China's entry into the World Trade Organization and a seat at the world table was said to be so as to better control China and influence it. It seems like it is Communist China who control and influencing us.
At no other time has America, and the world been so vulnerable to a tyrannical State like China. At no other time has the Alexander Hamiltonian principle of "Every nation...ought to endeavor to posses within itself all the essentials of a national supply. These comprise the means of subsistence, habitation, clothing and defense." been so blatantly abdicate and vacated by the political leaders and business leaders in the United States, and seemingly the world, that it not only threatens the freedom and security of America, but every free-loving nation on the planet. Ronald Reagan said once, "If we lose freedom here, there is no place to escape to. This is the last stand on earth." Will we all wake up too late to realize the forgotten lesson of the past?
