Just What Are You Expecting Obama to Do?

The Obama Debate

Some folks seem to think I am a simple minded old fool. I will admit to being old, but I'm no fool. I'm old enough not to be fooled by the rhetoric being shouted by Obama and believed by all these young folks that seems to think Obama is a rock star or a savior of some kind.

I have seen the ads, read the newspaper and seen Snopes.com. If you believe everything you see on TV, read on the internet or in the paper, you're a bigger fool than I am. Most of it is nothing but hype. They can convince you to buy a product you don't want, don't need and will find completely useless if you listen.I think this product is flawed and I sure don't want Obama.

Sure he claims he is going to change the congress, revamp the health system, and all that jazz, but he can't do it alone. You can bet that congress will not work with him to change their own health system they get that is go great while the public does without. They keep giving themselves raises and more benefits. Those benefits and raises (he voted for) helped pay for a palatial home for Mr. Obama in Illinois, one I might add he bought from a crook that is about to go to jail, by underhanded doings.

I tried to warn people about Bush and what he would do to this country, well it will be the end of our country if we vote in Obama. He was raised a Muslim except for a few years as a Catholic, now he claims to be Christian. My he does believe in change doesn't he. He was a Republican and now he is a Democrat, what is the next political party is he going to join, maybe the Communist or would he be a dictator ? I'm sure he would love to RULE the country.

I'm sure I'll catch a lot of negative replies from people (like someone called just retired,) but hey this is STILL a free country and we STILL have free speech, I might add for the moment. I know what Obama is and I don't trust him or his charisma. He is an eloquent speaker, but mark my words he will finish this country of if he gets the nomination and wins. Hitler had all his people believing he could preform miracles too and look how almost brought Germany to disaster. Don't believe e
everything you hear. It is a serious mistake. He doesn't have the experience to do all these wonderful things he claims he can do. He will only be President unless you give him the power to be a dictator.

Let me state I'm not crazy about Hillary either. I have been a Democrat for mor year than most of you have been born, but if Obama gets the Democratic nomination, here are two votes in my house that will go for the Republican.

I have said my piece; now have at it, all you enchanted, in love with Obama people. In my opinion your out of your mind, plum nuts.

You should tell the truth. Lying always comes back to bite you in the behind.

I can't say that I am a big fan of Obama, for my own personal reasons. I am with 2buzy on this one though, I fear McCain. You are entitled to your opinion and I think it was very brave of you to write this article, with all of the supporters out there. Even though I may not agree, great job laying your thoughts out there and hopefully it will make others think.

I am with you Robritt. We need a leader who knows how to lead. We don't need somone who is full of himself. And if Obama is the best we have to select from then the United States is in more trouble then they think. I just want to know one thing, if Obama is elected who is actually going to be President him or Opra? And will he place his hand on the bible as every other proud american president has? And what about the Obama girl making her feelings well know, are we going to see another under the desk encounter in the future? In closing I will say this, I have been a democrat for over 34 years however my family will not cast any vote for Obama. I will support a woman or republican first but not an arrogant fool!

2BUSY, I am a Catholic went to Catholic school and at one time considered the nunnery. I did the same things you are referring to, I'm referring to the persons upbringing and what ethics they from during those important formative years. Yes I'm concerned about the war and the economy. We live on a fixed income of less than $20,000 a year. I have a son who fought in Vietnam and a brother that fought in Korea, Vietnam and Dessert storm. MY father was a General during WW2 and whole family was military. I know and hate war as much as anyone. And JUlLIE, I did not compare him to Hitler, I said they both had charisma , were excellent speakers and had great rhetoric, which applies to a lot of politicians not just Obama. This is something that Hillary doesn't have but Bill Clinton did as well..

Hillary, You are even afraid to use your real name or let someone send you back a reply, which doesn't surprise me any. I am aware of his education, but education doesn't mean a thing if you can't use common sense. A persons personality is formed during those formative years in case you didn't know it. By the age of six a person knows what is right and what is wrong, they say. He went on to do a lot of unethical things and admits to it but says he changed. That seems to be an overwhelming theme in his life, if you noticed. MY vote would be a protest vote if I voted at all. I've been a democrat all my life, but I will NOT vote for Obama. If you don't agree that is your prerogative. If you want to call me shallow. It is your choice.

  • Hillary2/14/2008

Wow, first you don't reserch his education - harvard law but grab something from when he was like 6??????? Then you complain he will have trouble with his healthcare - with a democratic congress all needing to be re-elected at some point - they all know there needs to be change and ALL of the canidates promise that to be changed, how can that be a point for just one of them??? But to say you will vote for McCain if Obama is the democratic's choice? How shallow can a person get? This isn't highschool, you are not voting for prom queen here - this is our chance to get a democrat in the office. That is if the rest of the democrates are more mature and intellegent than you!

  • Julia Bodeeb White2/13/2008

Obama is a Harvard Law Grad. He is the best and brightest America has to offer.
Aslo, we should be far beyond caring what religion someone is. You imply he is a Muslim; that does not mean he is a terrorist. To compare him to Hitler is really out there.

RJT I have never been a racist or a bigot. I even supported Jessie Jackie with his rainbow colletion a few years ago, that never got very far. I have great friends that are black. As to your remark about not knowing Omaba was muslim then catholic. Read his life story, It his own book he tells you: and I quote "As a child, Obama spent four years in Indonesia with his step-father, a non-practicing Muslim, and his mother. Between ages 6 and 8, Obama attended a local Muslim school in Jakarta; after that, he was enrolled in a Roman Catholic school. In his book Dreams Of My Father (p.142), Obama writes:

In Indonesia, I'd spent 2 years at a Muslim school, 2 years at a Catholic school. In the Muslim school, the teacher wrote to tell mother I made faces during Koranic studies. In the Catholic school, when it came time to pray, I'd pretend to close my eyes, then peek around the room. Nothing happened. No angels descended.
