Before he begins his speech to the kids, he wants teachers to build background knowledge to the students by reading books about Presidents in general, and about Barrack Obama himself and his achievements. During the speech, he wants teachers to make the students take notes on what Obama says. After the speech, he wants the kids to discuss in class about what ideas and actions Obama wants them to think about. He wants the kids to brainstorm what they can do to help Obama achieve his goals. He wants the kids to set their own goals based on this. He wants the teachers to collect the set goals, and use it to measure the student's performance on, and graph the student's progress.
Upon hearing this news, millions of parents are worried to send their kids to school on Sept 8th. The parents are worried that the pro-Obama teachers will make this an "Obama Glorification Day" and talk at length to the innocent kids, praising Obama lavishly. The parents are worried that the teachers will make the kids do projects and assignments that will support Obama as a person, and his political policies. The parents are worried that it will be a "Pro Obama" brain-washing day, conducted under the sanctity and umbrella of school curriculum.
The parents are worried that Obama will convert the kids into weapons, and use them to punch the parents twice as hard (as he normally tells his supporters to do), if they oppose Obama's healthcare policy, and his policies of "From the People, Based on their Ability, To the People, Based on their need".
Parents are also worried about the repercussions that will follow if their kids refuse to listen to Obama, or refuse to set their goals, as asked by Obama, and deny being measured on those goals. Would the Pro-Obama teachers classify these kids as unruly kids and take action against them, just for opting to sit out, and refusing to allow politics to be mixed with school curriculum?
Would the schools be ok with making it an optional attendance day, and not note it as a day of absence by the kids, if the Parents keep away their kid from the school that day, or the kids don't want to put up with Obama glorification day?
The President and his administration seem to want "Fairness Doctrine" in the field of Radio, and take away "Freedom of Speech" in this regard. But they don't seem to care about "Fairness Doctrine", when it comes to political invasion into our kid's school curriculum?
We can all only hope that Obama asks the schools to make Sept 8th an optional day of attendance for kids, giving them choice, to subject themselves to "Obama Glorification" political torture.

Post a CommentI ran upon this post just today. I remember that day well. I made sure that none of my grandchildren listened to that ridiculous broadcast. It was a special day, tho, it is my son-in-law's birthday.
:O}
This is crazy. Do not listen to this. Adolf Hitler did the same thing to start his terrible and sick plot against different race and origin. We as americans are free and have the righ to be who we want. Just because he is the president doesn't mean he can tell our children what to do. We raised them better than that....well at least some of us did. Millions will call and not let their children attend this crazy and sick plan. I am glad. America is about freedom and not about a president who goes on vacations everyweek and isn't even AN AMERICAN CITIZEN HISSELF. WHAT HAVE THE PEOPLE WHO VOTED FOR HIM DONE. THEY WILL SEE WHEN THIS ENDS TERRIBLY.
Why not turn this into a real educational opportunity for our children and/or students. Obtain a copy of the transcript of the speech. The homework assignment is to research and verify each statement the president makes as truth, falsehood or emotional plea.
What rot!
Nicole - well said!
Great blog post. I'm appalled by the Obama Glorification Day. This is such an affront to common sense. Reason says that more than half of those school kids' parents did NOT vote for Obama, and judging from recent polling, do not SUPPORT what Obama is doing. Yet our kids will be forced to answer the question: What are you doing to "help" President Obama?
I'm going to instruct my grade-school-aged kids to say: Our family voted for McCain, and we don't like how Obama is running our country into the ground.
Obama wants to wade into the indoctrination game? I can play that game as well.
